One hit mechanic
They have to change this garbage honestly. 87% evasion with 80% fire resis, 92 cold resis, 79 lightning resis and 84 chaos resis with 1189 life and still getting one shot is actually insane. this isnt even including the kill or hit hp gained. the "mechanic" isnt fun, it isnt challenging, its literally just annoying trash. the post will for sure have the "git gud" crowd but how the hell can anyone get good when half the maps have at least one dude that jumps from off screen to you and kills you? lmao

With that little HP, ofc you'll get one shot.
Physical attacks aren't mitigated at all on Evasion builds. Yes, you have miss chance, but there is builtin mechanic that makes sure you're hit once in a while, and if you get hit by a bigger attack, then for you that's one shot.

i understand i dont have that much life but with 87% evasion its pretty insane every single dude that jumps from off screen to attack me is never evaded.
The observations about the one shot mechanic are correct. If, with reasonable stats, you can not contend with the content (as in instant death with no competion), the system does not function well.
I have similar issues, either I cut through the content with absolute ease, or, I am one shot, many times in an unclear mechanic, there is rarely middle ground from which you actually get some "game", in which you are trying to actively overcome an obstacle.

agreed. its i either smash through the maps and never get below half health or i get randomly one shot by something rather it be an after death effect i couldnt even see because of the clutter on screen or mobs jumping from off screen to just hit me with one shot and i dont even have a chance to react.
Depends on OPs level. If he's doing late game content 1K hp is very, very low allowing pretty much normals to one shot you. Even mid tier waystones. 3-4K life like PoE1 is more acceptable at T15/16 maps but still low. 4.5K to 5K+ life, es, or life/es is more ideal with 6-8Kish+ the best.

In PoE1 it would be insane to think you're properly geared to be at 1K life starting maps and that's an easier game. You want 1K life, life/es or ES around the first Ascendancy in PoE1 and the same applies to PoE2. :p

It does not matter you have 87% evasion with 1.1k HP as it still means you get hit in 1 in 8 attacks. PoE1, and PoE2 as well, are games where you usually die when stars align and you get hit by aperfect storm.

Your evasion--which is considered damage avoidance--need to be coupled with large enough effective healthpool (EHP) in order to be able to absorb those hits that will eventually land. PoE2 is in its current state unfinished game and it is not properly balanced. I also feel that some mechanics are still missing from the game, especially defensive ones. PoE1 provided a lot more tools to players to stack defense layers on top of each other while PoE2 is currently rather bare in this aspect. Armor is in bad shape, evasion is good but leads to spiky damage intake and ES is currently the king as long as you can stack enough of it to absorb the hits. Even ES need some form of damage avoidance or mitigation as just large number of ES might not be enough on its own.

yea when i used a build that used ES i almost never died. this build i either 1 shot everything or i get one shot.
I actually have 5k shield and 1k hp and still get one shot change this ♥♥♥♥. I agree with this person GGG
1.1K HP is nothing. Even if you had armor that would mitigate 50% of the hit (assuming it's physical), you would get one tapped after T7.

So in evade builds it's even worst.

I'm not saying everything is ok. Some hits are absolutely stellar and should be balanced. But you should aim for a minimal 3.5K pool ( HP, not EHP ) with ANY build.

ES, Life, or hybrid ES/Life, anything that would boost your pool to 3.5K.

agreed but with the build i have its more of a "glass cannon" build for sure. just seems irrelevant having evasion if it does nothing as far as the "one hit" mechanic it feels like.

unless its a slam (which isnt mitigated) 16k evasion aka 87% evade is damn high to get hit by almost every attack.
If the attack is telegraphed its just safer to assume you're not going to evade or block it. Dodge out of the way.

If the enemy is doing quick swipe chip attacks, thats what evasion and block is good for.
