Detonate Dead (DD) has following tags: AOE, fire, physical and detonator. I do not think detonator is a scaling tag so there are 3 options to scale DD's damage: 1.) AOE support gems and skill nodes should apply to both fire and physical portion of its damage. 2.) Fire support gems and skill nodes will apply to fire damage part. 3.) Physical gem support gems and skill nodes will affect physical damage from the corpse detonation based on its HP.
Ideally, you would use AOE support gems but these are limited as far as I can tell. Fire scaling is probably good early in the campaign but the more you move to end-game, the corpse explosion based on 20% of its maximum HP will become more and more potent. However, it is possible GGG has either capped the amount of HP used to determine corpse explosion damage or normalized it across all enemies.
It will increase the damage of the corpse explosion damage based on HP percentage as long as it is general physical damage. It can not be physical damage with attacks or something similar as that would not work for DD as it is a spell. Also, I would not use any nodes that rely on hit as this might not work either.
