Reservation skills?
I got a really good item, but the effects only manifest on low health. Not a problem since I use mana as health, but I have no idea how to get to low health consistently. I tried to get to reservation in the infernal tree, but I don't have enough points for it yet. Do I have no other way to get a consistent low health?

Life reservation is the only way to stay at Low Life consistently while also getting something out of it AFAIK.

There are Serpent's Lesson and Coward's Legacy uniques that change what Low Life means, but they still require conditions to be met. You could probably run Coward's Legacy (You count as on Low Life while at 75% of maximum Life or below) until you can get more Infernalist points.

I am actually curious, does Chaos Innoculation (HP set to 1, Chaos immunity) trigger "low health" effects?

Quick google, seems it does count for both "low life" and "full life" effects. :SupraNeutral:

This was a bug that has been fixed.

"Fixed a bug where allocating Chaos Inoculation would incorrectly count you as being on Low Life."

No it doesn't they hotfixed this because it wasnt intended. It only triggers full life now since you have full life.

Ah ok, the reddit was 9 days old, and did not read further, would have been strange if it was really intended.

I am aware that there are items that can change what counts as low life, but I have none yet, and I am only around lvl 40~ right now, so a lot of stuff is not possible. I can't even reach the first node in the infernal tree that reserves health. So is there no other way to reserve health? I know in POE there were skills/spells that reserved Mana, and I could work to change that into health with support gems and talent tree stuff, but I could not find any in my list

These skills work with spirit now. So no that is not an option.
