PoE 2 has issues with Windows 11 24h2

I was playing on windows 10 the whole time and experienced like 1 crash in about 45 hours of playtime. Game ran basically very smooth.

3 Days ago i installed Windows 11 24H2.
Till now I crashed 16 times + even had 4 hard freezes that required a PC reset (that i never experienced before on my rig).
The CPU priority fix via task manager worked on the hard freezes,, still crashes quite often now tho.
The game is now on Windows 11 24h2 pretty unstable at zoning, loading or switching skills/gems in game.

considering going back to windows 10 for now, but this needs work ASAP and should have 1st priority since a lot of people experience this. And i bet the most of you are on windows 11 24h2 like me now.....

update: i've resetted win11 yesterday and updated again. Ran smooth in a marathon of 5+ hrs without any crash + good fps / no lags.

I thought you would know by now to never update windows. I had issues with Windows 10 2 years ago. Was crazy. Imagine having to roll back updates just to be able to play games.

I'm not rolling back ♥♥♥♥. I'll just play this ONE game when it's fixed. Every other game works just fine.

24h2 is a joke. They even deleted "right click - uinstall app" and you need to go to details of app to uinstal it.

I don't think Steam is directly targeting Desktop PCs. Even when Steam OS launches there, the point of SteamOS seems to be handheld gaming.

You could always try Garuda, Nobara or Bazzite.

Its very funny when people install a defective update, complain about its defects,

Windows users typically want an environment that "just works" any suggestion they actively participate in their own fate is unthinkable to them. This is the userbase windows wants. That's why they are going all in on AI assistants that do everything for you.

It's an issue for some users on Windows 11 24H2, not every Windows 24H2 user and there are a lot of threads about it.
It is caused by something with the 24H2 update specifically, even some Ubisoft games had issues.

It's up the devs to address the problems with OS updates. There's no way Microsoft will care, it's only their job to provide updates and security for your OS.

This isn't the only game I've seen so many posts about issues with 24H2 version. Clearly there's some major issues with that version.

Some devs rolled out updates that fixes stability issues though, maybe GGG can do that if it's not an inherit problem with windows.

Switching to vulkan can sometimes fix the game crashing.

This exactly did the trick for me this time.
Before patch i had 180 hours with maybe 3-4 crashes in total.
After last patch i cannot play for 10mins without crashing.

Switched from Dx12 to Vulkan and had no crashes for 12+ hours so far ...

So I tried turning off multi threading and no issue but it tanks framerate from 165 to 24 I just stated the game so that was just the first hub.

This is the correct attitude to have. Telling people "you'd be fine if you didn't update" instead of telling devs to fix the game is room temperature IQ opinion.

you should not play until its fixed. if you don't wanna risk your hardware. ggg won't pay if anything breaks...

i dont get why all accept that ggg just says oh yeah it's on microsoft's site so they have to fix that. when its clear that its on ggg to fix it. the Problem was there before already you can read this in forum. its just getting even worst and even more player get the Problem with every update and instat of fixing stuff like this so people that payed for it can play they preffair to do balance stuff in patches what is absolut the last thing that the game need atm...


when it would be the windows update tell me have you problems like this in any other game? because i dont...
