Beloved Augatory (or however its spelled). Lever pulling is also not cancelable, so you better clear all mobs in 200meters radius befor using it.
I just keep burning ground for towers or crappy map that i just want to pass.
Burning ground is annoying because it is not really dangerous on its own but it majorly slow my clear as I have to regularly wait for my ES recharge or walk around the impacted areas. It is almost impossible to avoid during battle, especially when my melee skill partially teleport me to enemies.
This is misleading and dangerous take -- Shocked ground is is effectively 20% more damage dealt by monsters and should not be ignored. It might seems fine but you will eventually get clapped. It is still better than Burning ground in my view though.
Thing is, that 20% very rarely means anything. If you get affixes that boost damage by 60%, gives 30%+ damage as varioues elements and chaos, boosting crits etc (which is even magnified by atlas nodes), that 20% from shocked ground is not rly noticable.
Or something like that. Burning Ground Maps are my fav map mod. :P
And yes shocked ground can and is actually more of a threat especially on T16 maps when you start stacking enemy damage mods. That hazard can easily turn hard hits into 1 shots from rares/bosses.
reading comprehension apparently isnt your strength
What am I supposed to do as a melee character when enemies are standing in it? Should I politely ask them to move a bit?
GGG acknowledge themselves that ground effect are spawning too much and create impassable zones on maps with narrow layouts. They said this will be addressed in future patches and they might also reconsider how strong the degen effect is. I use ES as a buffer on top of my health so I invested very little to recharge rate and faster recharge start as I'm above 80% evade. Burning ground affix is not hard, it is just annoying as it forces me to regularly stop to let my ES get back to full or navigate maze-like patterns to avoid burning off my ES before I get to battle any monsters.
if I have 75% fire resistance, burning ground should be minor drain on my ES or health, however, the reality is that at its current potency I die in about 5 seconds of standing on it. This is way too strong and I have not encountered more potent burn so far (granted I have not tried Arbiter yet).
I can stand in them and not take damage at 90% fire res, but again 20% of all damage going to Infernal Hound on top of 90% fire res + about 300-500 ES regeneration per second.
Edit: Forgot Hellhound don't matter that's only hits.
What's likely happening on my end is that in addition to Energy Shield Regen per second, my super fast Energy Shield recharge keeps me topped up too on those maps in between dodge rolling out of burning ground. I only ever stand in them for a second or two for illusion kills to power charges.
Edit 2: Oh and Grim Remnants for overhaling Energy Shield forgot about that.
I dunno I used to think this, but in high level maps that 20% is significant. I used to ignore burning ground maps but now I don't really mind. I mean, they still suck but it's not horrible. Shocking ground on the other hand, I gotta be on my P's and Q's especially if the map has monster crit. It's the only type of map that's killed me in the past 40 or 50 maps.
