get chaos damage out of act 1
level 12 and theres whole maps filled with mobs that use chaos damage.......you dont have access to any chaos resistance. take out or tune down the chaos damage of all the poison/vaal/cultist purple attacks in act one normal. Cruel is fine since you will start to have chaos resistance. I dread starting a new toon since act one is a huge chore at the midway point.

I was able to complete that act on 4 different characters. what I found helps is to keep moving around and never stand still.

i understand that but just when you have 2 or 3 packs of poison crabs in hunting ground you can watch your hp go from 100 to 0 in a few seconds. Plus i have like 5 or 6 toons in act 3

I can't even think of any dangerous sources of chaos damage in act1 tbh. Bleed at the end of the act however can be quite brutal.

poison is considered chaos damage and hunting ground/cultist zone can be a pain without the resistance

Yes, I know what the sources are. I just don't think they're such a pain to remove them. Case could be made for just reducing chaos damage across entire game a bit. Poison is one of the biggest killers endgame.

Freythorn.

If you get unlucky with spawns it can get incredibly frustrating real quick.

Specifically, the Archers.
If you get a bunch all at once all spamming their stuff it can get nasty in a hurry.

They basically have the vine arrow with scattershot and toxic growth but pure chaos versions.
So if they clump up they can pretty much fill the entire walkway with literal death you don't have resist rings for.

Once you know what to look out for in there, it's much more manageable, but they should seriously consider flipping the damage of the Archers to poison instead of pure chaos.
Just start a new char. You'll be surprised how easy it is with some extra gear from your stash. (I only say this cuz you said you dread it). Campaign is very easy after your first char. Chaos damage isn't a problem. I've beaten act1 on many hardcore characters with no issues, and I don't look up builds or anything. Just put some runes into your weapons and watch how quickly you murder everything.

i didnt mean to say remove more like nerf only for act 1 normal cruel is fine where it is, should of titled it better.

Oh i know some toons i was able to shred through act one no problems (merc and archer) but once i started to test witch and sorc i just watch my health go from 100 to 0 in 2 seconds due to the poison crabs
Its easy. Chaos damage does way less base damage than elemental anyway. And you dont get -% penalty thru acts. I ran t18 maps and even +4 breach boss/mist king with like 23% chaos resist and 2k hp just fine.

So stop acting like chaos damage means instant death.

I only have one character at Freythorn, and it was challenging, but not annoying or anything I would want nerfed.

I respect your opinion it might need to be tuned down, but I'm enjoying having to stick and move, and not being able to get away with facerolling mobs.

I don't think chaos resistance or even the presence of chaos mobs there is the reason you're dying. maybe try to reformulate this, like "I'm dying to chaos damage, what can I do to fix it ?"

Had 0% chaos res, i dodge the purple orbs and press my life flask when i see my health bar turn green, died 1 time to chaos damage in the campaign and that was to that one boss where you find the hooded one for the first time.
Take a hint from Mr. Miyagi.

No get hit.
