I have 350 Hours+ of Playtime, Here's my top 5 issues on the game
First off, let me just say that this is my first POE game I've played seriously. I played POE1 last year but took it very casually as this new POE2 was dropping soon. So take my opinion as feedback from a new player's perspective that has played the game a sht ton.
This is my personal issues that I have experienced in the entirety of my 350+ hours, NOT just what I have been experiencing at the very end of the endgame.

1. Souls-Like Inspiration but doesn't have the tools to make it feel fulfilling: Dodge roll and character speed doesn't feel good at all. Enemies can out-run you and one-shot you in an instant. The Dodge roll feels slow and clunky compared to Elden Ring and I believe there is no i-frames while dodge rolling because I have died so many times while dodge rolling. I don't even use dodge roll as much anymore and just strictly move out of the way as that is faster and more efficient in my opinion.

Edit: The game is inspired by souls-like games with it's methodical approach to killing enemies but once you reach end-game, all of that goes out the window. Endgame and Campaign is like playing different games. Campaign is POE2 and endgame is essentially POE1. So that brings up the question, what is their game vision? What did they want to differentiate between the 2 games? Balance the game around dodge roll, People barely uses dodge roll in endgame.

2. Trading in this game is HORRID: Why is there an external website to trade, why not an auction house? I can't tell you how many times I try to buy an item and the person just flat-out ignore me. I can send a request to buy an item from like 10 different people in a row and get zero response. There's also people who just ignore you, and triple the price out of no-where. Not only that but people have been reporting being hacked during a trade or even having their account just straight up banned. Theres so many issues that I'ma just list the rest of the issues out: RMT Bots farming and selling divine orbs that is causing the market to be super inflated, RMT sellers spamming world chat and private messages, Scammers are rampant trying to sell people items they didn't list, trading website lacking options to find certain items

3. The Elite Affix (Drains Mana and does lightning damage): This affix alone damn near almost made me quit the game when I first reached endgame. There's zero counter-play towards this besides kill them extremely fast. These elites run god-like fast while draining your health and mana insanely fast. During my first play-through of the game, it was impossible to kill these elites and the only thing I can do is pray that I don't get these elites in my maps. In my opinion, this affix needs to be removed from the game entirely.

4. Looting and "Crafting" is worst part of this game hands down: 99.999999% of your drops is going to be straight up garbage. 99.999999% of your exalts and chaos orbs will brick the item you are trying to craft. I'm sick and tired of gambling in video games. I hated it in Lost Ark, I hated it in Apex Legends, and I damn sure hate it in this game too. This crafting system feels like it's designed to force us to trade which is a huge problem because trading is garbage too for the reasons I mentioned earlier

5. There is a huge wall late end-game in progression: The main purpose of these games is to progress your character and get stronger. Late end-game practically hard-wall because all the best items cost months to even a year of farming for the average player. 30-50+ divines for a best in slot weapon is just un-reasonable even for me and I have 350+ hours in this game with a lvl 90 monk and a lvl 91 ranger.

Agree with all points. However I want to add 1 more.

The 1 and done life on a Map. Like, no, just no. I don't mind getting killed. I don't mind the exp penalty. What I DO mind is if I die all all the 'events' on the map just disappear making it a pointless, worthless node, while also robbing me of any items that I had yet to be able to pick up prior to dying. I don't care how hard you make it, but get rid of the 1-life and you're done BS or I'm done and never coming.

what a smooth brain comment. how do you disagree with someone's experiences (which is what OP is mostly stating)?

If this post was Top 6 issues, this will definitely be #6. I have overcome the hurtle of 1 life per-map and made it all the way to lvl 91. But it still was the most miserable experiences I had in a long time getting there. Expecially since defense is so weak in this game besides energy shield.

Im pretty much in the same spot: similar playtime and l90 witchhunter & l93 Witch.

1. Not sure what oneshots you.
If true your gear and stats must be trash.
Dodging feels great for me, I don`t use it often since my character is pretty tanky (Blood Witch, no Pets).
But it`s great to break surrounds and avoid heavy hits when normal movement wouldn`t be enough.
Movement speed over all feels fine for me, I always use teleport on 2nd weapon set.

2. Don`t really know about the trade site issues.
Look what you need, 1 click for contact, teleport to seller, done.
In Game Trading House would not be that much faster, but yea I guess it could be more comfortable to not directly deal with other players.

3. I had the same opinion when I saw those rares for the first time in act 3.
Since then I burst them down and tbf they always die very fast, not sure why there should be a problem for you, playing freakin ranger.

4. Well if everybody would just craft whatever they want the endgame would be solved in like 3 hours and there wouldn`t be anything to do. Getting really good gear has to be expensive. Or you have to be very lucky / put in a lot of time. That`s how it works.

5. You can progress your character without owning "the best items".
Of course it`s damn near impossible to get the BEST ITEMS if a million other people look for the same stuff lol.
I get your point, I have not even 10 divines; body armor and wepaon I want would be like 50 today, probably 100 next week.
It`s fine, look for other possibilities to get stronger, get more currency, maybe get lucky with a good find, see where it brings you... That`s how I think about it.

But yea, I don`t know man, if you don`t enjoy the game for what it is and your only goal is to progress to the 0.00001 % you have to put in a lot more than 350 hours, that`s for sure.

I generally agree but there's a few distinctions to be made here.

For #3 there is counter play for the mana siphon, you just have to stay within the circle if you can't outrun them and you'll be fine.

And also for #5, BIS definitely does not cost 30-50div... more like 150+ at the minimum. The average player can forget about ever coming close to BIS.

Here's my experiences that don't jive with OP's opinionated conclusions

1. "Souls-Like Inspiration": dodging
Game explicitly explains what dodge roll does not work against, it is not a get-out-of-stupid-positioning-Scott-free move

2. "Trading in this game is HORRID"
The game is more engaging without trade. Trading made one of my characters bone-dry boring with how powerful it was. Build with what you have and make the best of it. Only trade if you must- and never trade from your hideout (its an account security vulnerability). There is a reason its not in game, and its not because the devs are lazy. You figure it out.

3. "The Elite Affix (Drains Mana and does lightning damage)" is too strong
Learn to fight in close combat, you don't have to engage everything at a comfortable distance. Some enemies are easier to fight in melee range. Like this one.

4. "Looting and "Crafting" is worst part of this game"
Don't expect perfect gear; learn to make the best of sub-optimal gear. In other words, force yourself to work with what you have, don't force what you have to work for you. See 2. Don't get frustrated for sitting on 'old' gear- if your old gear is so good, eventually you will reach a level that even mediocre drops should be better and it becomes an issue of self-discipline.

5. "There is a huge wall..." regarding late game gear
See 2. Don't expect best-in-slot. The game obviously is meant to make getting 'best in slot' as a very difficult achievement. Unless you're Elon Musk.

That is why OP's conclusions are invalid to me and I hope they reflect on their experiences more to come to more constructive criticism than "things suck".

let me start by saying disagree to some but not what you think.

1. https://www.poe2wiki.net/wiki/Dodge_roll
there's apparently i-frames but just the first half of roll..? like wtf. also melee needs a better roll, but to get it you'll need a unique amulet call Surefooted Sigil. that's an entire slot gone because of 'EA design'

2. I play SSF so i don't deal with trade. when i did play trade in POE 1, it's REALLY inconvenient, but it's not bad like what you've said. the hacking incident you mentioned has been made public and the loop holes have been filled this year. unless you're stupid rich and paid money to those illegal services, then it's none of your concern. just play the game, don't interact with third party other than GGG's trade website and you're fine.

side note, i've never used a discord server called The Forbidden Trove, or TFT, but it exists. its suppose to be a player regulated market place to trade in bulk. they got a merit system managed by people, so people with lower ratings are the ones you should be concerned about.

3. https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Archnemesis_modifier
learn it's real name and learn to hate it. campaign for it's removal like you've done. one of it's after death affects has already been 'disabled until further notice'. please don't stop hating this crap. it needs to be gone, from both games.

4. subjective so like others i disagree.

5. what a lot of players like you have to understand is the timescale the dev's want you play at. yes its just going to take that long in ssf. but in trade you're progress is gated by your trading capabilities as a player. so again subjective.

I am a new player to POE world, played some D4 when it came out and stopped about three weeks after launch. I have about the same hours in and four characters later with a level 88 Monk. I am still learning this game and all the in and out's, I have come to love playing monk with a lighting wave and flicker build. That said.

I agree with all you said, trading in a game is out right trash these days, its by design so the game owners can make more real life money off the bot farming and trading going on which really hurts the growth of a game like this. I have always been against player run economy's and trading gold type currency in games like this, total lazy and terrible design.

Even after almost 400 hours in and finally falling into place with my monk and mapping just fine now, I still cant enjoy crafting, I do not get enough drops from orbs and any other material, even with almost 80 or 90% now rarity of items found and juiced up towers I still get trash drops for crafting. I cant even make new gear I scrape by with a bunch of items on my gear that are garbage.

POE 2 I am hanging on to enjoy for a bit longer, long term I can't see myself staying with the game when its takes this long to build and craft gear, I don't care for trade as I want to be self sufficient. Long term also This game will NOT attract new players after they see the massive grind massive grind. Then again that's why POE Sold out to Tencent, they new long term POE would not survive unless they had help, even now tencent will run this game into the dirt and only the very niche player base will be left, sad to see games like this these days. I do hope they turn it around as I have enjoyed my play thru's so far.

1. I have 68% chaos resist and 75%+ resist on all my gear. This is the bullsht that be 1 shotting me: https://www.reddit.com/r/PathOfExile2/comments/1hs1pxz/3x_bomb_explosion_after_circle_disappears/

Also, you're viewpoint is only from the "my current standpoint" perspective. The points I'm pointing out is from what I have experienced in it's entirety. The Entire 350+ hours I have played. Just not the last 100 hours of sweet roses and sunshine after my build is godlike.

Movement speed obviously ramps up depending on the build and how are you are into the game. Most classes isn't using teleport nor can they afford a temporalis where they can infinitely teleport across the screen.

2. "Don`t really know about the trade site issues." Okay not worth responding to this. I find it funny how u dodged over what I said about RMT.

3. OBVIOUSLY those rares is not an issue now, but it WAS an issue and it was not fun. It was torture to deal with this as a ranger and it made me waste so much time back then expecially when the elite has godlike movement speed buff.

4. The game should have some level of RNG/Farm to it's crafting. But this is full on slot machine casino gambling. This is not crafting. If a game's only way to keep player-retention by casino mechanics, then the game is flawed.

5. Once you progress you character to a certain level, nothing besides to 50+ divine items is the only upgrade you can do. Yes I could currency farm, but currency farming is boring. Trials of Chaos and Sekhemas is gated around RNG. Certain debuffs that you roll and turn the run from easy to impossible. Maps are boring and unfun because all the loot you get is garbage. The best moments I get from maps is playing breach and getting that juicy divine orb drop. Besides that, there's no drop that I'm genuinely excited for. I'm sorry but doing hundreds of runs to MAYBE get a good drop is just not fun and not what I personally expect from an ARPG

Then maybe don`t call it "My top 5 issues on the game AFTER 350 Hours" ?

That`s why I wrote "2nd Weapin Set". Like every class can run Blink on there if they don`t need the 2nd set for their build.

So nothing just ran to you and 1 hit killed you. You walked into on death killer-circles with 1.4k HP. At that point why even bother with resists :D

rmt is not part of the game. Either complain about the game or rmt, Those are 2 different things buddy.

Yea maybe don`t expect too much from AE Endgame. Come back in 2 years, it will be better.
