Path of Exile 2

Path of Exile 2

SSF is the best solution to make PoE 2 more successful
... to players with broken builds in end game zipping around and destroying everything in the blink of an eye, just like PoE 1.

... to eliminate the annoying on death effects carried over from PoE 1 because of players in end game zipping around and destroying everything in the blink of an eye.

... removes the annoying trading cesspool, scams, and likely the reason accounts are being hacked.

... fixes the economy issues

... remains true to the supposed core values of PoE 2, rather than players trading/buying for optimal gear they didn't earn or craft.

... encourages guilds and co-op for better drops and more challenging content

... removes the flavor of the month meta builds that everyone is so desperate to copy, just like PoE 1.

... makes it simpler for devs to balance the game

... keep the currency exchange, but tailor the entire game to SSF and it will be so much better.

Best solution would be to actually balance the game and just get with the times and have an auction house.

Unfortunately, only having a SSF league would undermine GGG's business model.

I exclusively play in self-imposed SSF (I like to 'donate' some drops to friends on occasion) and this way of playing removes most of the BS in the game. And I can still be social when I want to.

Agreed with the above post. Self imposed SSF is best.

You're right! Right now, I'm playing in the Standard league, but I can't wait for the full release when everything will be more balanced. That's when I'll start with SSF. In Standard, if you use trade, it mostly just feels like hunting for Divines—you rarely need to worry about anything else. It's pretty rare to upgrade your own loot beyond what you can buy, though it's not impossible. For example, yesterday, I dropped a chest, juiced it up a bit, and it turned out so good that I replaced my 5-div chest. Still, I think SSF will be a much bigger fun experience for me!

I do have one concern, though—three months for a league feels too short if you want to play SSF casually. And if you stick to the Eternal realm, you just end up missing out on new content.

Also doing self imposed ssf, but I think I am about done...pretty much hit a hard wall in progression...too much RNG, I'm like level 85 I don't think I have managed to find or "craft" an upgrade since around level 65...actually comparing the gear I have currently to what I have been finding/slamming lately, I suppose I am lucky my gear is as good as it is.

isn't there a ssf league ? lol
does the game need to be more successful ? at some point, you get diminishing returns

yes. I'm suggesting make the entire game SSF with account bound items, but keep the currency exchange.

Well, did you expect to play a finished game with fully fleshed out endgame? I seriously dont understand you guys, because you treat the game as something that its not right now.

You should be testing out the game, make new characters, not seriously play the game. No need to reach lvl 100 with your character, no need to farm anything for the future. Just test the game. You can even just play the same build over and over until you are experienced enough how to build it and be prepared when the game actually releases.
At least they opened the door a crack to a GGG AH. Like that Markiplier guy and his Honey, there's something shady about that 3rd party AH and I stuck to SSF. I'll do the same here.

While i like SSF a lot, as the devs stated, balancing the builds that you don't just one hit endgame bosses is a better approach to that.

If people do not want to trade, they can just play SSF no reason to make it mandatory.

Which? like gimme specifics?
What items are overpriced? Which items are underpriced?
Because i was able to gear all of my chars fairly cheaply.

The game is balanced with trading in mind while SSF counts as a challenge league. So clearly GGG do not share this vision.

I mean, no? not really? thats why its called SOLO self found. Not Group found or Guild found.

True, would also delere build variety because most people would just play the build that needs the least specific gear while performing the best. You will not get rid of meta builds, ever.

Not really?! They would still have to deal with all the usual issues with balancing.

Or just keep it optional as is and let people play what they want?

I see 0 sense in removing diversity ....

Good points!

As a SSF enjoyer myself I see no reason to remove trade league as it is optional. I do hope that in the future, SSF will be a bit less grindy. I feel that it is way too hard to get gear as it is now, but that will hopefully change as crafting gets more mechanics added to it.
Ive never thought "i cant stand just knowing other people are playing build i dislike and need to do something about it"

I play SSF because i dont trade anyway so why not. Never once have I been bothered by what other people are doing.

Even worse when these types try to force their fix onto everyone. Options are good.

Sorry this "style" of "thinking" irritates me.
Man I wish there was a half-way point where our SSF characters could share a stash

I believe an in-game auction house would be a much better solution. I honestly don't see the point of the current trading system besides insisting on using it for "nostalgic" reasons.
