Path of Exile 2

Conduction support skill
Well the game says it's 100% chance to shock enemies, but i get the same chance for "shock" even without it, is it a bug/glitch? I use it on Galvanic Shards.

It says "100% more chance to shock".

This means that you effectively double the chance to shock your targets. The base chance to shock depends on the targets elemental ailment threshold (which is affected by maximum life) and the amount of lightning damage you deal with the hit.

'''
Shock is an Ailment that causes targets to take 20% increased damage, and lasts 4 seconds by default.

Lightning damage from Hits Contributes to chance to Shock enemies. The higher the Lightning damage dealt, the higher the chance. By default a Hit has 1% chance to Shock for every 4% of the target's Ailment Threshold dealt.
'''

You might be confusing "chance to shock" with the 20% increased damage effect. If you want to increase the damage multiplier you need to increase the "shock magnitude".

In that case the devs can successfully f** themselves cause shockburst combo with lighting damage doesn't work.

If you are trying to apply shock with shockburst that is your problem but your very vague response doesn't go into detail what your issue is so I can only assume you are doing something wrong.

Shockburst does :shit: damage unless you are hitting a target that has elec proc'd on them.

I have a Merc myself and use Galvanic Shards (GS) to apply Shock, then use Shockburst Rounds (SR) for bonus damage when fighting bosses. SR alone does very little damage unless the target is shocked or electrocuted.

One thing that can be easily overlooked is that SR has the "Payoff" keyword. Skills with that keyword often consume/interact with some status effect (in this case shock and electrocute), but they cannot inflict that same status effect. You can see this if you open the detailed information for your SR skill gem (the arrow right of your skill gem). There it says "cannot inflict shock" in the projectiles tab.

This means that you need two skills for the combo: one to inflict shock, and SR itself. For the former, you can use GS. However, the chance to inflict shock with GS depends on the lightning damage it deals and any modifiers you have that would increase your chance to inflict shock.

lol, it's the devs fault you don't understanding the verbiage or mechanics? Be mad at yourself, no?

If i want to get my brains f*ed off i would go to work, but at least i'm getting payed there, in video video game i want to relax

Well, if reading and comprehending skill descriptions on that level already fries your brain, maybe you should indeed go look for something else to play.. :braindumpster:

Yes it does it's literally the build I am using and melting bosses in 4 seconds.

Try to understand how the skills interact with each other before insulting lol. The first poster told you how it works.

Currently best skill to apply shock is bow skill Stormcaller Arrow.
Get bow put it in the second weapon set and use that.
Also use Voltaic Mark first on bosses

Shockburst rounds are not supposed to shock but to attack already shocked targets.

This build is really strong for example it seems.

While true the gem could be something like +120% to be more intuitive to understand for more people, I'm sure the developers are grateful to have worked hard to get such a nice response.

It's not that much thinking, but yes, a liiiiittttlle bit of reading and comprehension is needed.

Otherwise, just go follow someone else's build, if you really can't be bothered. But it's far, far better to just learn to understand what is being stated in the descriptions and see how they work together. When (if?) the penny drops, you will find it very easy to make choices for the skill gems and pairing them with useful (and appropriate) support gems.

It's not hard to understand. If you played other ARPGs they have similar systems.

Agree. It's not 'hard' to understand, but there is that minor hurdle of being able/willing 'to' understand.
