Should i get the game now or wait?

Im thinking about getting it with a friend but are unfamiliar with poe in general. When you make one or several characters are there any resources that are shared between all characters, like an account storage or similar.
Also wondering about the seasonal resets, how much will i miss out on if i decide to stick to an old character and never ever go to the seasonal server?

your stash is shared, since your items and currency goes inti your stash everything is shared.
seasons are optional, you can start a new char in season or play an old char in normal mode.
you would miss out on a few new mechanics, in poe 1 some of them were integrated to the main game later when the season was over, so you would just wait longer. with no experience with the game at all, i would say: go for it. i have 4k hours in poe1 and don't think poe 2 is currently in a good state, but it is atleast really cool as far as the campaign goes - they watered down the rest like build varety to much for my taste.

Your stash is shared between characters.

Playing with friends is fun, but maybe you should wait for the game to be free if you're not sure. Maybe get into Monster Hunter or something—Fanatical is having a sale on those right now, I think. Or try Elden Ring Seamless Co-Op.

I’ve never played poe until a friend purchased me poe2. I’m around 13 hours in as a mercenary. Aside from it crashing my pc I’m really enjoying it solo so far. The music and atmosphere is good. I’d get it if you like Diablo style games. The $30 buy in really just equates to buying online tokens later to upgrade your stash (storage). I’m almost through with act 1 and I’m really really liking it. It’s what I wish Diablo 4 had been. My opinion might change later on but so far so good!

I had no experience with poe before and played it in coop with friends and one had 10k hours in poe1 and 400 hours in poe2. Without him, we would be all completely lost. There is no tutorial or help ingame. You all have to find it out yourself and you will never find some very important information. The game is very hard. You can't just go through story, you have to farm and build up your equipment. Otherwise you will be 1 tapped by a boss very quickly. And the equipment is completely randomized. You mostly get trash stuff which you don't even need and there is no chance to create good equipment by enchanting it except with a lot of luck and time. You just pick up and hope for good bonuses. After story there is no content anymore. You just join a random generated map, kill mobs and get trash rewards. If you die once, the map will be closed and you have to restart another map again. Rewards are very bad. The game still has a lot of issues in coop with map instances. Sometimes your mate finished the quest while you stuck and you have to do reset the entire map.

Is the stash even shared so that a character from early access can give and take items to a character from the standard servers on release?

i love farming in games so it sounds pretty nice to me

Also another question if anyone sees this, is there just a single playthrough? I played some titan quest recently and in that you have to play through the game 3 times to reach end game.

At the moment have to replay, act 4,5 and 6 ain't complete yet so have to re do to get to endgame. In terms of alts there is no campaign skip.

You have 6 acts in total but 3 acts are duplicated. It's like 1 to 3 and again 1 to 3 (harder).

wait until the release, they nerf/buff to many stuff for a "normal" gamer every few weeks because of early ascess, just wait until release

This game has too many hard unfinished mechanics, systems and content is really boring,
Wait for release and dont waste your money and time.
