Path of Exile 2

is the tattered robe too good?
any real downsides to running with 10k ES some jewels which give you Stun/Freeze resist depending on your ES?

Only tested it on a T12 breach, with no dangerous mods, (density +40% / +20% dmg / opens & closes slower

You're just full of crap at this point man... Yes, your ES will be lower, but you get way more resistances, hp, hp regen, damage, etc. You're brainlessly looking at one specific number and completely ignoring how the damage formula for EHP works. Having 2,000 more ES does not mean you can take more hits. That's just not how it works. Being able to get 40% of multiple res on a chest piece reduces way more damage than 2,000 ES does. On top of that, you lose a huge amount of damage. Also, I can look at the market right now and see over a dozen pieces of armor better than Ghostwrithe for endgame content that are under 1 div.

You're lying for the sake of lying. Why? I gave you an extremely thorough explanation already and instead of just taking in the information that you specifically asked for, all you wanna do is argue with people and project you're incorrect logic onto others. It makes no sense. Even if we're talking straight tankiness, Ghostwrithe is not number 1. The 5 socket chest from the pinnacle boss provides way more bulk if you want it to. Idk why you're so upset and blind to reason, but you're acting like a child. It's ridiculous.
But if you cover your resists on other pieces of gear, there's no reason not to use Ghostwrithe. Stack resists and life on your other slots and get 4K ES from GW, or have the same resists but get only 2K ES from your chest. Seems pretty clear which one everyone should strive for.

Yeah, perfectly rolled gear that's been corrupted, or a super chase unique, might be better overall, but 99.999999% of players will never see such an item, and pretty much everyone will see at least one Ghostwrithe drop.

And it doubles my ES in comparison to a 500 body chest and I'm not going to spend 100 div for better gear,

PS: and this response is worth what exactly what?, because it tells me nothing, it is just a blank statement

You've no idea about uniques which enable endgame in a way you've no idea about

100 divs for upgrades tell me you don't know ♥♥♥♥.
people list it as what ever they want, I'm not playing as mage, so ofc I've no idea how high or absurd those prices are and still 500ES would be not enough, like I wrote later on at least 25 div, if you can read

https://www.pathofexile.com/trade2/search/poe2/Standard/9bGRWnYuK

25div for something that gives me 50 spirit which I don't need in my own build

Ghostwrithe can be better than rare chests, and is much stronger than expensive rare chests. Its always build dependant.

Game even dropped two for me.

Still no death at Tier 15 maps breaches +4 since I found it

Clearing whole breaches, all res at 75, life 1.1k, ES at nearly 12k.

chaos resist thx to ghostwrithe at 90%
high res/EV/ES/life on the rest of my gear.

dmg could be higher ofc, but I'm playing my own build, with 3 to 8 skill rotation and not doing one click builds.

For the priece of a tomato

I used this body armor all through the campaign, it's great bang for your buck.

However, it falls off late game.

First time I'm closing in to lvl 92, before I died constantly, with faster recharge and faster recharge start, and grim feast, even hit by chaos dmg, worst case I've to dodge few moments, klick meditation and I'm okay again.

ES buffer is just too good to give up on it, I got my 3 spirit gems I need and even run with one to two unset rings to have more skills for more fun.

Only downside missing out on some spirit, dex, 10to20res and 200hp of life, for boosting my ES which thx to my playstyle is mostly at 12k ES, high Chaos Res, saves my ass, so far, every time

You could be getting damage instead if you're capped on res. You always lose something with Ghostwrithe. An average top end chest piece will almost always outperform it on a good build. That's why you never see build guides recommending Ghostwrithe late game except on very specific builds that either require you to lower you max hp somehow, or they rely on some weird ES gimmick.

By stacking resist elsewhere you're losing almost 30% of your total damage potential. A very cheap chest can have 3 different res at 25-30%. A 1 div chest can have 3 at 35%+. Making up for that on stuff like your rings and neck that have huge damage potential isn't a smart move overall. This is compared to just a solid rare chest piece btw. Idk why you brought up some min/maxxed set up. This kind of logic is why people cry and complain when they get to T16s and pinnacle bosses. You're stacking everything into trying not to die to the point where you can't actually kill anything and you still get 1 shot by half the mechanics anyways.

show me the chest that gives 2k ES and 3res 35% for one div, +35 chaos res :)

Yeah good luck with the high Chaos Res mod, but you can easily find those without the Chaos res. It's when you add Chaos Resist and/or 60 or more spirit. Then it gets very expensive.

For Chaos Inoculation Builds (CI), It's pretty nice and you can find 40-50 spirit Body armours with 750 ES for 2-5 div. Actually as usual the whole gearing thing is super easy because you don't care about chaos resist or life modifiers.

The big downside of the Ghostwrithe robe, ignoring the lack of resistance mods, is no spirit modifier which is the hardest thing to get out of your equipment. If you're a minion summoner or any spirit reservation heavy build, this fact alone basically disqualifies the unique.

That said the Demon Form build with Ghostwrithe is pretty cool. It reminds me of a gimmick from early Diablo 3 before the difficulty/auction house nerfs that you used on Wizard. I can't remember how it worked exactly but it involved very low life and high regen I believe with some skill, limiting the amount of damage you can take to like 33% of your life or something.

with CI I just got beaten to death, no idea why.

chaos res saves me all the time, especially against those flying violett projectiles which hit you at the same time, when you're in cqc in a breach and now I mostly lose 4k ES and still have 7-8k ES left.

might be great for other builds, but I'm closing in to get finally lvl 93 and didn't die a single time, ofc avoiding more than one negative dmg modifier and always avoiding cold.
