Logbooks - I need info
Soo...do these books exist? i swear i have over 320+ hours into the game and i only dropped 2. I am not doing as much expedition as i wanted to because i honestly got hooked to breaches, but now i'm hopping back to some expeditions and i am not getting any logbooks

Whats the deal with these books? any pros here that want to share their insight and information? no matter how many times i buff the modifiers with 50% chance to drop i just dont get any. I just did 5 expeditions and i have no Logbook drops, even with buffs! - this is kinda dumb and frustrating. I want to enjoy expedition a bit more but this is throwing me off. At least give me 1 logbook per map!!! ohh and not to mention these things are sooo damn expensive, lvl 79's are going for 25ex, like excuse me? xD... yeah im good.

How do i get these damn things to drop please help a brothaa out.

One thing to keep in mind is that 50 % boost on a 0.5 % chance just means you now have a 0.75 % chance.
The remnants you blow up only affect critters that spawn in that explosion or after, so getting the "increased logbook" remnant as early as possible should be a priority UNLESS doing so will sacrifice too many explosions. 2 "rare runic monsters" markers with 50 % higher runic book drop chance aren't as valuable as 6 rare mobs with the "50 % increased rare monsters" modifier.
So generally you want to look for "runic monsters are duplicated", "more runic logbooks" and "+ rare/magic monsters" remnants, avoid any modifiers that brick your build and maximize the amount of monster markers.
Also worth noting is that chests can drop logbooks at a decent rate, too, especially the bigger ones, so if those are available it pays to get them in the explosion too.

The big explosion passive on the atlas tree is especially valuable because the explosion makes it so ALL monsters unearthed are affected by all of the modifiers. You can lose out on the odd expedition because a build bricking modifier sits in the middle or the map layout makes it so you don't get much of the expedition into that one explosion radius though, so it's a tradeoff for sure.

AFAIK the logbooks are a higher rarity item. This means higher quality maps on higher tiers and corrupted/irradiated should help because difficulty improves rarity and quantity of drops.

Thank you so much for the reply. I do try and get as many mobs as i can especially when i see like big pillars, those indicate rares and elites correct? or runic monsters you said? I opened so many chests too, i just dont get anything....

Runic monsters are the red flags. Specifically the big ones. Remnants are the little tombstones that modify critters.
You might've just gotten unlucky. I'm running rare corrupted tier 15s right now (if I get hit by the runic mobs I might actually die :D) and I've had two logbooks in one expedition encounter a few times.
It's really down to luck, map level and I wouldn't be surprised if rarity also affects the chances.

Just did another one and nopeee, nothing yet. If its luck well then holy sh*t my RNG is bad af. I guess i will keep trying.
That's just my guess but I think expedtions maps are linked to waystones drops, so just juice up nearby towers, corrupt t15-16 maps and pick good ones with 400-560% waystones drop and hope for the best(don't quote me on this because even if there were atlas nodes that boost expedition drop rates I wouldn't bother investing any points in them), then try to find the tomb of that undead guy on the island that drops logbooks, sometimes it's just an empty treasury with chests, sometimes it's a boss. I think it's marked as gold skull on the minimap. Not sure about his name, but it's an undead knight that summons ice swords, I got a couple of logbooks from him
I have finally dropped one! omg! a lvl 80 one. I hope there's the boss!
just bomb the ones that say give you logbooks. i got like 10 or so. also i think you need to do tier 11 map. the lowest ilv logbook i found is ilv 75.

It's utter ♥♥♥♥♥. I've run high level juiced maps (that's all I run like many) and I've seen two early on then nothing. FFS, if you want people to interact with the mechanic, allow the rng to do so.
