I didn't much like how hard it seemed to cap your resistances in PoE1, but in PoE2 it's just way worse and abysmal if not trading.
And we don't even have dual resistance implicit rings anymore either.
I mean, you either adapt or not. Its not like this is the finished version of the game, its basically just a testversion.
PoE1 we can can do anything even use the tree of another character, PoE2 that tree is empty, it's difficult to find some node for dammage, but nothing in life, vitality or resistance, in fact nothing usefull which was the key of PoE1

Certain skills tack on a reload speed penalty to lower your potential DPS with them. There are also Support Gems that reduce reload time. Additionally, every Crossbow type has its own reload statistic determining the overall reload speed you will have while using it... And most of them are under 2 seconds by default.
yeah I have seen a lot of people confused about how mercs* can spec crossbows (*or others using the class specific nodes)
It seems people skip these passives, stack one mechanic (ie att speed) and expect it to work. On my merc I have tried to balance att speed, reload speed and global cool downs and the result is i can just leave a button pressed and my little merc poops out grenades and spits out fire and ice without missing a beat... till i'm oom

If you forgot the passive tree and you don't search keywords, you are missing the biggest part of build optimisation.
At the start of any character I'll search different keywords and scan the local part of the tree for interesting and important nodes.
For Merc there is a Crossbow shaped set of nodes to the south of the tree that have quite useful functions.
Xbow has speed attack, reload is due the ammunition
About that you load ammunition, OK how to download this to get again crossbow shot ?
