Minion summoning issue
PROBLEM SOLVED. THANKS FOR THE HELP.

Leveling infernalist (L30) and while my hound and arcanists summon, the skeleton tied to scepter will not. I know things are a bit buggy so is there a method or fix for this?

Thanks for any advice.

It usually means your sceptre cant be used because you haven't met the minimum strength requirement, is the item red in the character inventory?

Check your support gems - if you've added any to the sceptre, you may not have the stat requirements to enable those support gems, in which case the minions will be deactivated.

There is no red. If I hold a single scepter with sufficient spirit in Slot 1 and a shield, I can't summon anything. If I add a scepter to slot 2 then I can summon the hound and the arcanists if I adjust minion count.

In no case does the skeleton skill from the scepter work.

Can you post a screenshot of your skills tab? Because the skeletons from the scepter have no spirit reservation - they simply exist because you have the skill. Thus, the only reason they wouldn't work is if you either were unable to use the scepter (due to inadequate stats) or were unable to utilize the support gems attached to the skill (again, due to inadequate stats).

Scepters are off hand. You can't equip two off hand items at the same time.

I had this happen to me twice playing 2 different Witches.
It all stemmed from the first spell I picked up which was a wand spell. It had something to do with adding the first rattling sceptre I put in to my load out. I think this messed up the the second weapon slot for some reason.
Try making sure that you do not have any wands spells on your spell bar. I may have also removed all support gems and weapon slots and then reapplied them too, to get this to work.
I hope this helps.

You can 100% hold a sceptre in the left slot and a shield in the right slot and it'll work as per usual.

Source: Lvl 77 infernalist that has done this all the time.

You can't equip two scepters, but scepters aren't offhand only, they can be used on the main hand and a scepter + shield is great for minion builds.

Not a screenshot of the weapon, a screenshot of your skills page. I understand you have enough strength to use the weapon, but if you have support gems applied to the scepter's skill, and changed gear that was giving you stat bonuses that enabled you to use those support gems before, you may be unable to use the scepter skill until you remove those support gems.
Wait, a hound? When TF did I miss that? I've basically stumbled onto the witch class which has bad DPS depending on the specs (and I used flamewall as part of my build because why not?). I selected infernalist just because it looks cool. It took me a few to decide given the limited info in game. I am n00b relative to some, and completely uninformed compared to veteran POE1 players. I look forward to learing it all, but it is daunting.

After adding a flame abilities, I experience mostly fire bosses, which shrug it off, it seams. All are beatable, but it is chipping away at them, rolling like crazy on the cheap AOE blasts. Dropping DOTs like crazy and debuffs.

It's one of the nodes from the Infernalist ascendancy - basically, it takes some of your damage and just runs around igniting things. Pretty neat.
