What does that mean, how can I check and/or revert to previous update? Is that a thing?
Under Windows Specifications it will show you the version you are on.. but yeah if it is 24H2 then that is the issue.
As for rolling back you might need to Google that one.
Apparently I do have this update installed, but if what everyone is saying is true having the previous version or uninstalling this "24H2" update, will make no difference.
FIX THE GAME GGG.
Perfectly fine here with basically 150 hours and no crashing.. the majority seem to be 24H2 not saying there are others having a different issue.. but the most are because of Jank 24H2 and its not just this game its coursing issues with..
Its a Microsoft issue its not just POE2 having the issue with that version of Windows.. I am on the previous version with 0 issues.. I would at least attempt to roll back..
Ok so I just uninstall this update "24H2" which is referred to as (KB5048779), and then pause/suspend all future updates? I assume that's all I need to do here?
Ah cool, good to hear. I see a gajillion threads on this here, Reddit, etc already.
Appreciate the response. We're not alone. GGG fix your game please.
clean up your PCs ... do a fresh & clean install . . . NO rollback, NO recovery, NO backup ... delete and format ALL partitions . . . download and install "LATEST" Windows 11 24H2 install (ISO)
update to LATEST stable drivers, firmware (also your router), BIOS, Windows Apps through Windows Store and of course update and use latest software.
do NOT use NVIDIA Experience which is obsoleted and outdated anyways as its development has ended, do NOT use the new Nvidia App. download and install latest nvidia drivers (v566.36) from official site, install drivers ONLY, nothing else . . .
Windows 11 Pro 24H2
i9-14900HX
RTX 4090
32 GB RAM
not a single crash and/or freeze on my end . . . YET
have you checked temperatures of your CPU and GPU?
usually thermal throtteling causes crashes . . . and i9-13 and 14 gen are known to overheat and therefore throttle quickly as these need heavy AiO water cooler installed . . . as not even the hugest CPU fan cooler are enough to keep em cooled down, besides you additionally undervolt/underclock and/or set lower Watts for P0-state for your cores . . .
an i9-13 and 14 gen and a RTX 4080/4090 are heavy power and performance hungry in combo, while i9-12th gen could work without AiO and without undervolt/clock, but with a biggest CPU fan cooler installed for at least.
run HWiNFO, sensors only, minimize to background, launch and play game, after crash, check HWiNFO which cores got shut down / throttled due to heat . . .
if your CPU and / or GPU overheat, underclock and/or undervolt them . . .
thermal throtteling sort of shuts down a or a few CPU core/s to cool down and to prevent further damage, and of course this crashes, freezes running processes as games and even cause BSOD
my i9-14900HX doesnt own a water cooler, I need to underclock it from 5.8 GHz to 4.00 GHz ... so my cores stay below 90°C and do not throttle . . . it also depends on your GPU settings . . . that higher GPU settings are set as ULTRA, that more your CPU needs to work ... if i would play PoE2 on Low/Medium settings, i could use 4.5 GHz btw . . .
so while a GPU stays around neat 65°C, your CPU easily hits damaging 100°C . . .
CPU should run below 90°C at all times, GPU below 85°C at all times . . .
