If so then that is the issue right there.. It is having issues with many games not just POE2.. it would be best to roll back to an earlier version of Windows or wait and hope that Microsoft push out a fix for it.
it started for me on updating to 24h2 before poe2 released and was freezing in poe 1, and every other game.
if you changed primary task such as alt tab or click on a second monitor during any 100% cpu usage, particularly if you are running a video, shortly after the pc starts acting erm, choppy i guess, it would freeze.
you can force it to freeze by rapidly switching tasks at any time during a game load. this applies to any game or any application where cpu is peaking.
literally spent a whole month trouble shooting this ♥♥♥♥ trawling through event logs and dump logs, my conclusion, hypervisor ♥♥♥♥ got changed, its causing some memory leak, your memory looks fine in resource monitors (but i guess it would if its behind the hypervisor) but games actively start responding like they have no memory left. click something thats a load after the chopppiness starts and you freeze at that point.
i spent almost a week watching procmon and poe on a side monitor, before the crashes, it would start having trouble with memallocs read/writes despite memory being 40% use and poe showing 4-5gb used. this behaviour applied to ALL games, and likely applications that press that high,
wallpaper engine makes this significantly worse.
the alternate point if not the memory, was directx kernal drivers are ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up.
for the moment i blocked 24h2, and have 0 crashes since rolling back, while prior it was hourly.
Dude, I mentioned this before in the thread. I used to play POE on Windows 10 and had the same issue.
Welcome to the club, buddy. *Slapped on the butt
hundreds of thousands of people are playing concurrently fine. Playerbase must be in the low million rn.
the common denominators in this is you and your gear.
people crashing is nowhere near as common as you think, it's a minority of people. Just that people who don't crash aren't here opening new threads saying "hey guys I don't crash", so you don't see them represented here. If they did, 99% of this board would be that, and am being generous rn. It's probably more. :P
