Not a fan of this too. Still didnt find one single citadel after 80~h playing endgame.
Only did the breach boss, died.. logged off for the day.,. farmed another 300 splnters again.. did it with other character and beat him.
I like the bosses but I hate the one attempt design coupled with how rare citadels are and how long it can take to get to the other pinnacles.
Maybe they should add some form of currency payment to retry so that it still sort of keeps the design the devs had in mind but also make each attempt costly.
To be blunt. The 6 portal system they have in poe1 would fix every single complaint there is in regards to bosses.
Jonathan Rogers should stop having his face in his ass and stop thinking about player punishing so much and start thinking about fun.
His design philosphy has to much punishment in it. I can live with exp loss on death.. map loss on to many deaths.. node being blocked on to many deaths.. but 1 try boss fight attempts the way how broken defenses are and how easy bosses can oneshot.

kinda impossible, 300h in endgame or 300h leveling chars in campaign,
i leveled a new char in ssf and found after like 12 hours like 10 citadels.
from time to time citadels will also be hidden under mountains and stuff on the map, so you have to mouse hover over the waypoint on the map to see if its a citadel.
the end game seems designed for the top ~10% of players.. and streamers of course - failing on a pinnacle boss after spending 100h looking for citadels is great content, I'm sure chatters love it
It's not, I'm at like lvl 94, tons of maps cleared and also travelled significant distance on atlas and have yet to even see 1 citadel. Good for you that you found 10... i haven't found any in well over for sure 150 hrs endgame mapping.
