Cold dmg and freeze

Hi! So I’m trying to build an ivoker that electrocutes and freezes enemies. And In using tempest flurry. So I need a way to inflict cold dmg. I can get this through my staff, gloves, rings etc.. but I’m curious if it matters HOW much cold these items does it dmg? Does it matter if my staff has 44-65 cold dmg as a mod or 1-5? Does it matter whenever I have added cold dmg on gloves or staff? Does it increase my chance to freeze if I have the mod on multiple items ?

more cold damage = more build up
your cold damage hits go against enemy ailment threshold

support gem -> glaciation for 50% more freeze build up
there may be passive tree nodes to give additional freeze build up

im playing freeze merc and i still run the support gem because it helps a ton to proc quick freeze
i got other items that boost cold but the support gem makes it alot faster

Alright, so I do more cold build up if I had these mods on basically all items that can have them?

test the support gem for sure
you may be OK with the build up due to high attack speed

i run blue flame bracers on my mercenary which converts all my fire damage from grenades to cold and i have slow attack speed also
