Path of Exile 2

Armour Break And Consuming It
Okay.

So lets say I use a skill that DOES NOT break Armour. (Poison Arrow)

I now apply a Support Gem that enables Poison Arrow to also Break Armour (Corrosion)

Now, I apply another Support Gem that CONSUMES the broken armour INSTEAD of Breaking Armour to get a 50% Damage Boost .....

Does it work this way?

No. The minute you put on the consumption gem, you lose the ability to break armor with that skill (I believe that is written on the gem).

That's the point. I want to loose the consumption of the skill because by consuming the armour break, the damage increase by 50%

If the consume support gem in on a different skill, yes it does work. Use poison arrow to 'break armor' then nuke it with a different skill.
The ideal combo would be an aoe with armor break support and the consume armour break gem on a high damage skill (snipe for example).

Why on a different skill? The game recommends me Slotting in Armour Break and Consume Armour Break on the same skill?

Armour Break on Poison Arrow and Shoot with Gas Arrow for stronger AoE
Interesting that you are using Poison Arrow. Why not Gas Arrow?

I would rather get Armor Break on Gas Arrow and then snipe the armor break with Poison Arrow, no?

I do use Gas Arrow ....

Poison Arrow is my Primer. But I am experimenting with other stuff.

So I use Poison Arrow to ....

Fork to Targets. Every Fork AoEs a Poison Explosion
Every Fork and AoE Forked explosion apply Broken Armour to everything and everyone

With broken Armor I use my Gas Arrow for a higher Physical hit causing stronger Poison.

With this combo, 2 stacks give me 100k Poison Damage with Gas Arrow ..... I can apply 10 Stacks. If NOT breaking Armor, my Gas Arrow only do 70k per 2 stacks.

Snipe is iffy.

Because it requires you to stand still ..... you can't stand still in End game. Everything kills you or hits knock you out of Charge for Sniper
What I am asking is .... does putting a support gem on a Skill that breaks Armour, then also putting support gem that doesn't break armour but consumes the broken armour for more effect work.

Can I slot them both on the same skill

I was under the impression you cannot use those support gems together, one nullifies the other or something like that.

Hence me asking the question because I am self not sure .....

Also, with Poison Arrows Forking ... you can kill stuff 10 maps away from you before you even reach the map....Gas Arrows don't provide this.

That's correct, you can't use both. The game recommends both becasue you can use the skills in different fashion. The devs assume you're smart enough to read and know you can't use both at the same time and choose to either break armour with poison or use exploit weakness to convert broken armour into a bigger poison damage.

Just because the game recommends you 2 gems in the "recommended gems" window doesn't mean all of those gems work well together at the same time. You gotta use your head and read the descriptions, too.
