Glitched Ice Nova

Hello,
I am using a Cold-Sorceress at the moment and just started using Ice Nova. The skill specifies that it conjurs a ring of ice which "Projects FROM YOUR CHARACTER" ...
However,
I keep casting it whenever I get ambushed, and not only does it not hit the group of enemies, but it completely reaches off the edge of the Screen -- nowhere near the enemies I'm targeting!
Roughly 9 / 10 times this keeps happening. I've pretty much given up on using it. Though, I've noticed standing still the problem does not* occur (as often).

If you are shooting ice balls (can not remember the name) if you look at their direction AND cast ice nova; ice nova is gonna happen where those ice balls are; so it is kinda letting you use ice nova in combination with other ice skills far away from you. That is probably what happens to you. Use electricity for spamming spell; or dont target your other ice skills(by looking away from them) to cast ice nova on yourself.

Is there a way to disable it so that it will NEVER target one of my FrostBolts?

I dont think so, best way probably is not targeting/not looking at where you shoot those right before casting ice nova, until they are out of reach; or using other skills as i mentioned.

No. But the Ice Nova does follow your mouse cursor, when you throw a frostbolt to the top right, aim to the bottom left or on your character and cast Ice Nova, it'll cast from your character. Only when your cursor is near the frost orb it'll cast on that.
Dunno how it works with controller, I guess turning your back toward the orb should cast it on yourself.
