you just need to use the system and properly use the weapon sets, how many weapons did you use with one single toon on POE 1 ?
Why does having abilities on weapons matter? You can use any weapon on any class so it's not like you are restricted.
poe1 gems, always had required weapon types.. what are you on about.
It's really all about the perspective change from 1 to 2, and it was a necessary thing to do. Even though people are still calling the passive three the "skill forest", it's honestly NOT that big. each starting area sticks to a pretty strict adherence of what that class is all about. staying in that 60 degree cone of the passive tree would absolutely give you benefits to your class and whatever skill you're using.
Sure going outside of that area would still give some benefit, but not as much, and could hinder your build. Granted, I'm sure someone will find some whacky build where a warrior has nodes in the monk area, or any other combination of crazy ♥♥♥♥, but those are niche things, and staying in that specific area is a better option.
Truuuuuuue i want to use Lightning Arrow with my nearly 900 dps two handed mace!
That's not what he's saying.
For example in poe 1, leap slam isn't just resticted to maces, you can use it with quarterstaves, swords and axes too (but not daggers or claws).
It's not like remove all restrictions, but widen the choice a little.
i wonder which weapon will have cyclone skill locked to it
Poe 1 didn't have automated weapon switching for skills either. So they can be more restrictive with things now.
I know its really fast, but there is still a weapon swap delay and it feels clunky. I'm definitely on the side of not restricting skills to weapon types, barring major logic like not using melee on bows. In fact, I'm not super thrilled about weapon skill implicit either for the same reason. BUT maybe its actually weapon swap delay thats bad. If they removed the weapon swap delay I don't think I'd care any more. With the delay, its clunky to use... and weapon swap speed is NOT a stat I want to ever consider using over other options. Its more like a punishment for diversifying, on top of needing the second set of gear. While gear sockets for skills aren't a thing in poe2, they've certainly made it harder to mix and match skills.
