It's like watching a trekie nerd over star trek when they've seen it thousands of times.
PoE 2 is right now AA.
But it really doesnt matter to me.
Because I experience much more fun with PoE2 and its only in EA now, cant wait for full release!
D4 - I enjoyed campaign.
But overall D4 became boring really fast for me. All you need is to run and use always same 1-3 skills max, because they re just your strongest and you dont need more, because it only slows you down. Mashing 1 or 2 (maximally 3) buttons and watching whole screen blows everytime so fast - its maybe enjoyable for some teenagers.
Bosses (and Elites) arent so interesting and punishing like in PoE2, so you can play whole D4 with your brain OFF and you ll be sucesful - this style of gaming isnt for me.
I like reasonable challange and brain using during playing. Not only braindead keys mashing.
IMHO PoE2 is closer to D2 then D4. And for me Diablo 2 (remastered or not) is still the best Diablo.
Thats propably why I prefer PoE2 (and 1) over D4.
D4 -> no gender lock and can make some changes like tatoos, gender, haar, several optics and others.
Its like a character creation like in a mmo but having nothing like in poe2 is really annoying....
No character creation in 2024 feels like old games on amiga or c64
It has worse graphics with really low texture resolution even on ultra settings.
The bossfights are super boring. And the game is way to easy.
That being said, PoE 2 is far from being a perfect experience:
It rewards the wrong things.
If you lame it out, by getting a gigantic energy shield and focusing the rest of your skill points and gear all into making one single spell as damaging as it can be, you can easily run through those endgame maps and melt everything by simply spamming the same spell over and over, while tanking almost every attack.
Most of the popular Streamers play this way, min maxing one spell and energy shield.
It's a very braindead and save way to play the game.
But as soon as you try to diversify your move set, incorporating 5-8 skills into your gameplay, while branching out on the skill tree, you are basically ♥♥♥♥♥♥ in the endgame, because everything one shots you from of screen.
In regard to the endgame grind, yes its insanely grindy and doesnt respect your time at all.
I would find it reasonable if you could get your character 90 % where you want it to be in the first 100 hours and max out the values in another 100 hours. The way it is now is that it will take you probably over 500 hours to get the right modifiers to decent values and another 500 hours, at least, to max out your character, which adds up to over 1000 hours in total for one character, if you try to find everything in game on your own and dont lame it out by relying on the trading system, which is insanely grindy, but then again, they are called Grinding Gear Games for a reason.
But yeah, the game is mainly designed for No-Lifers.
It starts as soon as children start recognizing that their actions can get a reaction out of people that can get them things they want. Some people grow up and maintain this behavior, either out of amusement or attention or whatever reaction they're looking to get. While it's not always with ill-intent, it's almost always annoying as ♥♥♥♥. And inevitably leads to defensiveness, which then creates this endless loop of attack defend attack.
tl;dr Cool. I'm glad you like D4 better. People liking POE2 and dogging on D4 has 0 effect on you. Thanks for sharing, we'll file it in the warehouse with everyone else's unnecessary opinions.
P.S. The irony is not lost on me that my comment is doing and contributing to the exact same cycle. Funny how that works. The internet probably would be a ghost town without these cycles. Lovely isn't it?
Im playing freeze sorc, and my screen is blasted with blue color 24/7, so I see nearly 0 other effects on the floor and usually die to some usless aoe, which is literally FULLY covered with my skill animations... And I press 1-3 buttons of which I have on skill bar. But most of the time I press 1 or 2 buttons and stay "5 screens" away from the boss/mobs since its much easier to do this way, then any other(and yes im capped on res and have some armour).
Its not like I defend D4. It is boring af after some time, but you cant say it has less skills. Compared to PoE2 I had to press ALL my buttons I had on the skill bar there.
Hm.
It seems like it depends what class do you play.
In D4 I play Rogue and its really easy and boring most of the time.
Maybe I should try another classes.
In PoE 2 I tryed Merc - didnt like playstyle, after that Minion Witch it was better but it was too easy.
So after this attemts I picked up Monk and it is the most fun for me (subjective from player to player). Right now Im in the end of Act III enjoying the game more then D4..
Perhaps you should go play Diablo instead.
