Does % Bow Damage Contribute To Poison Damage??
On the Passive tree for a Ranger. More Bow damage means more Physical Damage?? Which means more Poison damage? Because Poison scale of more Physical Damage?

Poison is an ailment that does chaos damage over time and bypass energy shield.

My guess is poison scale on chaos damage and ailment mod.

No damage over time only contributes to ailments.

Poison scales from physical damage, so anything that increases that will effect your poison value. https://www.poe2wiki.net/wiki/Poison

But the Damage over Time value is applied by the % Physical?

According to in game stats it says more physical means higher base damage to your poison tic and something to do with Magnitude of the Poison.

So the Calculation is Phys Damage % and Magnitude % and then the poison damage tic is applied.

But al the builds I look up Online does not spec in to % Damage to Bows ... and I don't know why?

I get what ya'll are saying if it's true that Poison does not scale of your Bow Damage .... But Poison applied is taken from your % Physical .... In my mind Higher Phys means more Poison applied with your %magnitude??

So why does Builds I see online not spec in to the bottom tree for Ranger which is basically all just % Bow Damage nodes?

These nodes do increase your Phys Damage right?

If a node increases the bow damage, it will increase the physical damage, as just about all bows have physical damage as a set value.... Does the wiki not explain this?

I use poison gas from Decompose skill and I'm a chaos witch with no physical damage. It's kind of shady how poison scale. But my poison melt enemies, does it have something to do with my chaos damage % increase or ailment % increase for the DoT ?! I don't know.

That's an interesting question.

My guess would be that physical raised the initial HIT damage, but not the damage over time tick. And chaos/ailment raise the tick, not the hit that trigger the DoT. I might be wrong

Brother, no need to be rude about it.

I saw the Wiki ... I am now asking that why do all the Poison builds I see online for Ranger not spec in to the bottom % Bow Damage Increase??

Because Gas Arrow Poison Magnitude scale of Chaos and Physical according to the Skill

Im not being rude, bro..... They might not spec down there, because there might be other nodes more beneficial for the build. Things like travel distance to nodes vs reward etc... All play parts in builds.

Poison tics are based on either a Physical or a Chaos hit. Poison also deals chaos damage over time but this damage is not increased through "increased chaos damage" modifiers but through "poison magnitude".
Mechanics

Poison deals 20% of a hit's combined physical and chaos damage dealt (before mitigation and damage taken modifiers) as chaos damage over time per second for 2 seconds. This percentage is affected multiplicatively by ailment effect/magnitude. Ailment damage cannot be scaled directly; however, it can be indirectly scaled by modifying the hit damage.

Poison can stack and has a default stack limit of 1; this can be increased through various stats or modifiers. Each instance of poison has an independent duration and only the highest damage instance(s) of poisons up to your stack limit will deal damage.

Poison chance depends on an explicit chance to poison.

The damage over time from poison bypasses energy shield and damages life directly.

I can only speak for myself, but i dont see a reason to spend the points there. When i am finished with the poison nodes i go straight for the 100% physical damage right on the way and the rest goes into evasion and energy shield.

In fact, before going for bow damage i would actually spend my points to get the Withered nodes instead.
