Currency, item stats, crafting and unique items
Currency -

1) Transmutation and augmentation orbs are okay.
2) Exalts are too rare but made essential due to the fact chaos orbs don't do what they did in POE 1. They are essentially 1/4 of a chaos orb but 10 times rarer. They should drop like transmutation orbs.
3) Divines are divines.
4) Vaal orbs are essential if a bit too rare.
5) Chance suck and are 1000 times too rare.
6) Chaos orbs are diabolical due to the ridiculous weighting rolls on gear, almost always takes your rarest & highest tier modifier and replaces it with the highest weighting aka reduced requirements etc.
7) Alchemy orbs are okay if 10 times too rare imo.
8) Annulment orbs are idiotically rare but are essentially a bad chaos orb.
9) Mirrors are a streamer meme as always.
10) Regal are okay I guess.

Basically outside of mirrors and divines all other currency combined is a POE 1 chaos orb with incremental steps.

Item stats -

Why change already understood mechanics and reverse them (tiers)? I don't get that. I have no idea how many tiers there are per stat on items? Nor do I have any in game references to what stats can roll on items or what weightings said rolls have. I am tied of allowing 6 to 10 3rd party apps access to my account because GGG cannot be bothered to add these details in game. Yeah I get it adding 6 or 7 extremely high weighted "not useful for any build" stats like thorns, attribute requirements or mana/life on KILL (specifically) etc. just makes the random non-crafting even more depressing.

Crafting -

Main lesson from POE 1 was indeterminate random orb spamming hoping for miracles was as unpopular as trials and ultimatum (oof). It isn't crafting, Chaos spamming in POE 1 was fun for me, now it takes a transmutation, alteration, regal and 3 exalts to essentially brick the item unless you feel lucky with the new and not improved chaos orb spam.

Crafting is essentially non-existent.

Unique Items -

I have 63 or so unique items in my tab where at least 60 are unusable for any build outside of levelling. and that is only because low level items suck. Why create garbage on purpose? Creating art and models for this garbage seems like a waste of time. Make all uniques awesome and have less of them instead of creating 240 garbage items to make the other 20 look amazing by comparison, just makes no sense to me.

That is about it really, I am interested in what other players think especially POE 1 vets.

There is no "crafting" aside from very very late into the game where people can afford mirrors and omens to control the output. It's a slot machine. I switched from ssf to standard and won't change back anytime soon since trading is by far superior. It's not even close in terms of efficiency and power progression.

I am not a vet but this "crafting" system is not a crafting system, it's very bad. If you start from a white item, you have 6 opportunity to brick your item, usually the first orb brick it from start btw.

It's a shame of crafting system. That's so bad that everyone stack currency for trading and only the very rich high end players do crafting because they loot hundreds of exalts per days so they can afford the RNG cost.

The craft should be more deterministic because it really suck hard, like very hard. The game feel unrewarding because loot sucks, and craft adds nails to the coffins.

Yeah I agree. Last epoch has a way better crafting system. So good that blizzard immediately copied it and put it into D4.
from what I get at this point in the game: just use poetrade
the only currency worth using is transmu/augment and regal to try to do a good enought item to sell (work well on jewel)
before T15+ map you dont loot enought currency to waste them on "crafting", they will always be better spent on the market.
I agree it could work very differently, so we can mess around a bit before very end game, something more balanced so we can work on medium gear.
but that won't happen I think
