Path of Exile 2

Path of Exile 2

So is "Endgame" the only thing you can do after beating the game?
I have just played endgame for like 5 hours and it's quite boring and... useless?

To me, endgame is pretty much just a farming simulator without any purpose because you won't really use the gear on other things than just doing more and more farming.

I know there are gonna be more acts and classes added in the future, but is there also gonna be some more endgame stuff added or is this it?

yes. there are end game pinnacle bosses to find and kill

as well as the map event bosses, for things like breach, etc.

find and kill those. then wait for all the extra content from release.

The point of endgame is just to gear to get as powerful as possible to kill the pinnacle bosses (king of the mists, we are one, arbiter of ash, and others). Now after you do that, then yeah there's nothing else to do unless you want to farm more, you've beaten the game.
This is what these Diablo 2-style games are. It always just playing with different builds and farming gear. Rinse repeat. Endgame at the 1.0 release will likely be the same until GGG rolls out Seasons and seasonal resets. POE (1) was the same way, the endgame involved new game mechanics with every season and new items. The season ends, and you start a new climb all over again. It may not be your cup of tea, but this is how Diablo 2, 3, 4, POE1, and now POE2 will ultimately be. Its worked for many people that still continue to log 1000+ hours into POE1, so I doubt they will change that. Diablo 4 tried to break the mold and ended up with too much to do that resulted in nothing to do that felt meaningful and ended up boiling down to this same loop, farming rift/dungeons/delves/maps with every season.

Does "seasons" also mean battle pass and stuff like that?

I just want to have some kind of purpose to play the game because I am not really into doing the same thing over and over again without any rewards you know. Some kind of cosmetic stuff would be nice. I have played D4 for around 300-400 hours and I got bored of it later.

I quite miss the open world from D4 in this game, but even without it, the game was fun so far, especially the campaign... now in the endgame it just feels too meaningless.

So basically if you defeat these bosses, there will LITERALLY be nothing else to do? except trying out new classes and stuff?

No battle passes, and it's super early still for poe2, if you want to get an idea of how the game/endgame will probably continue to develop take a look at poe1.

You might be seriously underestimating what killing those Pinnacle Bosses requires. It'll take quite a higher time investment than whatever you've put into the campaign. There's also a ton of emergent gameplay from Atlas, Waystone and Precursor Tablet interactions - take for instance the current breach stacking trend.

we're 3 weeks into a beta.. so the answer to that is yes
i hope your not another one of this people, that paid for a free game, to participate in a beta, only to complain that it isnt complete..

eventually, like the last 10 years of poe1.. there will be a new league every 3 months, and end game expansions every 2 years most likely, as a minimum.

Well, the game has been in development for at least 5 years so I would expect it to be close to complete, but I am not here to complain, I just wanted to know if there is anything else to do.

The thing is that I am not really into being super focused in making the top of the top builds in order to defeat these crazy op bosses, that is also why I didn't even try defeating the hardest version of Lilith in D4 in pre-season. Basically if I am nowhere close to defeating them, I would most likely just move away from that character and create a new one with a different class.

if you have killed all the pinnacle bosses, then no there isnt anything else right now, other then pushing to 100.

so start a new character and try something different. while you wait the next 6-12 months for 1.0 release.

So what actually means "Seasons" in PoE games?

the 'battlepass' in poe1, revolves around map completion. and rewards cosmetics.
seeing as the maps work differently now who knows how it will work, but will most likely still be map completion based. like completing the do 'x tier 15 maps' part of the story.

lseasons.. rather Leagues, are new content/game mechanics with new bosses every 3 months, in a temporarily league that rolls into standard at the end, its what 95% of people play..
