Poe 2 is much more advanced in every aspect already in Early Access. It is more demanding but also much more satisfying. Unfortunately, it requires thinking and planning. Mindless gameplay will not work here. However, every good item you loot, every boss you defeat, will give you a huge amount of satisfaction.
Just keep in mind that Poe 2 is still in early access. Game is not complete yet. Is unbalanced, have bugs and some aspects my not work as expected. Still in my opinion even in current state poe 2 is much better than Diablo 4 and have much more content to do.
Diablo 4 (158th most played game on steam)
PoE2 (in the Top 5 most played)
D4 is made by psychologists throwing every single trick out there is.
That the usual suspects who hate this game for whatever reason flock this thread again to lie and to hate.. is amusing.
I would have argued D4 but in the end you will have to invest some money in POE2 anyways and if you buy EA you pretty much get your money spent in ingame currency.
The only argument i could make is that if you buy POE2 now there is a chance that you will burn yourself out by playing to much in EA.
I think D4 was a great game - at least the Story part and until you reach max level. Not a fan of the "endgame".
Really - i think D4 and its story was a lot of fun. The only main problem is that once you finished the story and were max level it sort of failed frommy point of view. And also there is just too few skills you can use at a time.
D4 for a quick fix and slightly superior fluidity / looks.
PoE2 for a deeper experience that will keep you entertained for much longer, but may lack some polish right now.
Would certainly not support any "it can only be the one" idea at all here. Both are similar enough to be fun for a fan of the genre, but different enough to be supplemental. Once you get bored of one, play the other... and once you get bored of that, a new season of the first will be out :-)
Then stfu, gayzard femboy
