You don't have to upgrade the skill gems, so you can actually do that. Granted, you have to be aware of that first, but this game holds no hands
Alt leveling is already so busted.
minimum for that skill is level 14 (gem level 5)
I dunno. I don't quite understand why all skills aren't available at level 1, just generally.
But seriously this would make the alt leveling process so much more enjoyable
Right now it’s like “you wanna study to become a mathematician? Here are geology classes for the first 2 semesters, no maths”
It's okay to have a restricted amount of gems at your first run to learn what they are doing step by step. After finishing the campaign and creating a second character, those baby steps aren't necessary.
I would love to start with more options to play at lvl 1 than just those few gems I already tried and played with my first character.
After thinking about it, even for your first gameplay it doesn’t make sense
