How many skill do you need to use ?

Hi,

I noticed I tend to use relatively few skills on my runs so far (Monk, Ranger, Warrior).

I usually use an upgrade from the basic attack (like electric arrow or tempest flurry), a AoE, an escape and the passives one (Herald). I also map a finisher or combo spender (like the Bell).

Sometimes accessing new tiers of Gems I look at the offered the skills and failed to see anything I would need in addition to what I have, sometimes a skill that could replace what i am currently using but that's about it.

I am fairly aware it's probably a beginner issue, but how many skills am I supposed to use ?

As little or as many as you want. Generally you should try to develop some synergy between your skills. Not every skill that game thinks is a finisher should be used as such. Just set up things how you want, you can change the primary role of the skill with support gems too.
