Remove Weapon Skills and Make them Gems
Their seems to be a major problem with build and skill variety while leveling. Weapon Skills also don't seem to server much of a purpose.

I think it would be better to make the current weapon skills actual level 1 skill gems I'm not sure the weapon skills and (and weapon passive points) are actually useful, maybe that changes at endgame. But build variety seems to be greatly lacking at least at low level.

Maxroll only has two viable endgame builds for sorceress and most of the leveling builds recommend using spark and firewall till act 2. thats a serious problem for a game where build variety is a major selling point.

YOU are the one not exploring build variety. I JUST made a post talking about the versatility of a cold sorceress. REALLY fun how you can use the kit to control the situation and layer damage when you need to.

Yeah, there is more to come with this game. I really want swords for a faster melee build. Flails and spears are missing, too. There is more variety to come, AND there is more variety that you have yet to explore.

Stop reading the guide. Go think of a build type you want to play, and try it out! lighting warrior? Fire witch? Ranger that switches to an staff? Use Merc turrets and cold spells? TRY THEM! See what YOU like. The guide doesn't know who you are...

Do you know how long it would take me to try out just the builds you mentioned let alone any others. poe2 isn't the only game and not the only thing i have to spend time on. I don't have days of in game time to waist figuring out the perfect build. And i know cold sorceress works its what i currently using. The way the current skills and levels work is just not viable. poe2 is designed to be hard right from the start but they don't give you the necessary skills to manage the difficulty as they are locked behind skill levels that you need to slog through via the campaign to get the extra skills. Each class probably needs double the level one skills they have now.

You're generalizing the both end game and early game at the same time, no-one can approach this ramble cohesively.

But as above said, stop depending on fledgling guide information that's being built up.
There's only 2 viable endgame build on there since someone was arsed to put up their guide there, Sorc can run Lightning, Tri-Element, Bow, Mace and Quarterstaff very efficiently.

The point of weapon skills is that they use no mana and take up no gem slot. If you don't make use of them, that's on you. They are basically auto attacks.
They are skills so that you can use support gems with them and not be stuck with an autoattack you will never use.

About maxroll... please stop looking at guides and make your builds guys.

Doyou know why there are only few builds viable ? it's because almost no one is making their builds and everyone is copying guides. There are a lot of viable builds but no one to explore them.

I'm playing a physical flicker strike chronomancer (I generate power charges with pin instead of freeze like everyone else does with the monk) and I have no issue in endgame.

spark was always the gem to go to to lvl witch in poe1, because it got the best balance of damage and aoe.
