It will never happen, like for poe1, and tbh atm the campaign is the best part of the game, mapping is broken af and trading is completely screwed by these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that use RMT to buy currencies
skip the campaign complete and do what?
how is a level 1 character going to survive in lvl 70 maps?
There's already a "delve" mapping type endgame. Just make waystones that spawn maps with monsters for level 1.. 67. Together with any other league mechanic you now have a way to level up from 1 to whatever.
I can't disagree with him any more, as the campaign is the most annoying part about any arpg for me. I just hate redoing it and it usually means I just don't and go play something else.
So yeah, id vote for a skip as well, but never gonna happen as the head of GGG just disagrees with us.
Nothing in those sentences makes any sense at all.
How does skipping campaign make for a bad end game? Like,.. care to explain how that could even possibly be connected?
If endgame is good and fun, you don't need a campaign to waste your time.
Id much rather pick if I want to waste my time doing endgame, or campaign. Nothing stops people from doing the quests again and again and again, if they want that.
A game, fully focused around "build your toon with endless possibilities!" also says: "But do it on these narrow train tracks, and don't you dare ask to take a different route!"
You know, they could just "gasp" make level 1 maps... or offer other endgame than just maps. We are not forced to just think in "copy poe 1" terms. Not all about Diablo is bad (most is just boring or badly done).
To get this done like asap, just temporarily make maps scale with YOUR level.
T1 maps are your level. T2 maps are your level +2, T3 maps are your level +3.... etc.
Or just have T1 maps scale to your level up to 70, and keep t2 onwards as is.
So many easy ways to just skip campaign without much work on the developer side at all.
hell no.. area scaling is the single worst game feature blizzard ever introduced.
when you level up in diablo, you get weaker because of it.
if your character is weak, you need to be able to grind lower level areas safely for xp/gold/gear
when you level up, in the same gear you are wearing you are weaker until you find new gear, because the monsters around you gain a level of stats, hp, resistances, they get stronger. you dont.
genuinely the worst game design in history.
Scaling for leveling and non-scaling for endgame is the best thing I experienced because it allows me non-linear leveling and progress in endgame. I will die if without scaling Blizzard will force me to level in order Fractured Peaks -> Scosglen -> Dry Steppe -> Kehjistan -> Hawezar - > Nahantu.
