I don’t think people are getting hacked it’s RMT enforcement!

I don’t think people are actually getting hacked. Almost every post I’ve seen involves absurdly high currency amounts—like someone claiming to have 2.5k divines or 5k exalts. Seriously, what? I suspect this is a system designed to target RMT currency. Instead of banning players (since they’d just make new accounts), it wipes their currency to make them feel awful.

For example, a friend of mine was complaining on Discord today about being getting “hacked”. After going over all his extensions, we found out he recently bought 40 divines from an RMT site. These sites don’t ask for account details they just trade you the currency so they’re not the ones hacking accounts.

Let’s be real: these sites are making bank. Honestly, it’s no secret I guarantee it’s 1 in 3 people are buying currency. It’s time to stop pretending it’s just a small minority and take a hard look in the mirror.


I think GGG has implemented a new tool and it’s targeting high currency values, as it’s harder to determine RMT from someone buying 100 exalts vs someone buying 2k divines.

RMT usualy force you to create account on their site before purchases. So dumb ppl make account, use same password as they got on PoE account and all other accounts (cuz having 1 password for everything is easy to remember) and then complain about being hacked.

The whole hacking is just laziness during cheating.

i have not engaged it RMT in poe 2 but i have seen spam for it in chat, poe one is a different story however never got my ♥♥♥♥ stollen in poe 1 so yeah, thigs are changing.

I thought I was hacked but it was only my silly mistake.

I forgot to remove a unique belt off my merc before deleting him. The belt was the one that gave +50 STR at beginning levels.

Felt like the time I had my first PS One and deleted my main save from Monster Rancher.

buying currency, to skip the core gameplay loop, is crazy.. why, what do you intend to do with the time you just spent money to not spend playing the game?...

paying money to not play the game, is so backwards.

agreed and in Poe 1 it was so late in the game that playing standard it was crazy trying to get anything on the market and i only got a few exalts to get me going then i was on my own from there so no real game loop breaking stuff, mainly i had no idea how to play yet and the kick start helped offset the learning curve as i had realized i was only broke cause i was playing it wrong. after that i started playing it right.

Well hate to bust your bubble but you're wrong, and nobody that knows how to do it is gonna show you any type of proof. You ppl do realize the more ppl you show or tell is how you get ♥♥♥♥ patched out right? So keep believing whatever your sweet little heart tells you so you sleep better at night. and some of us will keep on doing us! ;)

xd they dont even return items why would they target only currency that makes no sense.
Infact i believe they just chain bann and dont return ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

In all likelyhood its some chinese or russian hack that abuses some dumb peer to peer connection like the game installer.
But hey, atleast its not their government.
