What is the mechanic of scorpion boss at sek trial

Last night, i rage quit poe2 because of how frustrated i was when i firstly encounter the boss. I have been chasing my the little beetles, and there is poision trap on the ground. I didnt find window attack and the boss keeps diving into the sand. Is there a gimmick or something i dont understand

When the boss submerges, stand on a platform (just the corner so it doesn't activate the trap), and it will resurface. Balbala should be shouting hints about it during the battle.

Fun fact: I heard her say get to a platform, so I stood on one. The boss then erupted from beneath the platform with no indicator and killed me.
