Character name matters near 0, at most someone in town may see your name and go "oh cool name bro", or a party member doing the same.

Otherwise your account name is the main thing front and center, add a friend, shows the account name and not the character name.

Gameplay is king, my main's name Hwgaomo is not even in the top 100 of issues I have with the game.

there are dozens of websites that will create a random thematic name if you are unable yourself.

New here? For awhile half if not more posts were about people whining why names were unique or how bigoted the devs were by not letting customize their character.

Lots of people have lost their patience with these types.

Account name should be unique and character names not locked to a single use across the entire world. It's just worse than the alternative.

Another situation where people are ready to complain about too much choice as opposed to not enough. Wild.

I litteraly don't care about the name once the character is created

I do however find it funny/odd that so many variations that are usually never taken seem to all be taken on an early access game. That's a big playerbase I guess.

Yes it would just be a neat feature to have an account id instead of character id and be abble to call yourself whatever you want. (irl ppl have the same names, shocking). If I wanted to play POE1 like it used to be I would play POE1.

As for the clowns in the repplies, they're the same from POE1 so it's fine, if you don't mind them they'll go bother someone else.
