MF is fine. streamers dont know what theyre talking about and neither do you.
Basing the balance for this mechanic around the top 0.1% running obscene values for MF in t16+ is stupid. one could argue it should be toned down a bit at the higher end of that curve but all I see anymore are posts demanding it get removed entirely and reworked into something else. Or removing currency from being affected by it. MF needs to be useful in campaign, and low tier maps(which it wont be if nerfed) so people who aren't running giga OP builds can still compete in the market by getting decent trade-able drops or currency to buy what they need. It's not all about you neckbeards with 300+ hours to grind inside the game's first 3 weeks.

These items are also not just currency, they are crafting materials and you need alot of them along with decent bases to take your chances at crafting something good with them. They shouldn't be so rare that nobody wants to actually use them to craft items. especially for mid to early end game considerations. Nevermind the meme you'd be turning SSF into if those players can't even count on being able to boost their drop rates enough to make the mode playable. I'm not one of these players, but they do exist and they should be considered.

As an added point on this, don't forget that Jeweler's orbs (perfect in particular) are also affected by this stat and I know many people even with a lot of hours in the game are finding them so rare that they haven't found a single one, let alone several. Exalted orbs, even divines to an extent, are a pretty basic level currency and absolutely necessary for crafting. We shouldn't be thinking about them as this S tier drop that needs to be nerfed just because top tier maps and high MF are rewarding enough of them to make the process worth it and the stat worth it to work into your build for that matter.

Furthermore the game's economy is already flooded with these items because MF has already been used for several weeks. Unless you want GGG to implement a full on wipe what you're advocating for is giving RMT, and the top 1% even more power and control over your ability to play the game because that currency isn't going to just disappear if you make it harder for everyone else to obtain.

Inflation is a thing, I get it, but if people have other tools at their disposal for being able to either compete in the market or find/craft their own at least they have that as an option if they can't afford to buy the extremely overpriced items that already rich players CAN and will afford when they want to buy something for their characters or alts.

At the end of the day, it's the game's first month and a massive amount of people are playing it. Most of whom are following guides and videos suggesting what they should be looking out for in the market. This is the real reason the items you're after are overpriced.

Simple supply and demand.

I get that the post title is incendiary, and it was meant to be, I just want GGG to see that not everyone playing is in agreement about this topic.

Cheers.

I think this is one of the ways D4 was destroyed. Blizzard caved to the most vocal streamers and cranked up the exp gain to obscene levels. I really hope GGG doesn't listen to the no-lifers.

If they affect the economy significantly then it matters.
True dude. Let the plebs that can't farm properly because they don't have enough time get ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Who cares if the prices for all the gear keeps on increasing.

Now you are thinking ...!!

Div is only 109 ex after all ... thats like nothing. Lets wait till its 350 ex per div. So i can trade in my divs i bought at 9 ex each in the start.

More loot.
Better loot.

Magic find is the single most important stat on gear.
Period.

why did you post this here then when GGG said they dont read steam forums?

they read Reddit and thier own forums, they have stated this multiple times. . .

:exalted:

fair enough. i should paste it over there.

"Crafting" :-D we have no crafting yet what we have is a RNG slot machine.

So why do we want to make it worse by making drops and materials less available?

Publicado originalmente por EmperorVolo:
Misses the whole point. The point is it becomes a mandatory stat. Which gives say Sorcerers or any class that doesn't need other mandatory stats an edge cause they are able to give up those stats for magic find without losing any power. Where as a warrior gives something up.

This is the balance they are talking about.

misses the whole point indeed.

What if I told you you're not supposed to be able to do everything with 1 character. Have a MF character for that. A Boss slayer for that. etc. thats the balance they are trying to implement. which is good game design.

Publicado originalmente por Ortorin:
else the top players would own everything.

this is what they're advocating for when they call for nerfs to MF and currency drop rates. How dare GGG give an end game accessibility option to newer or more casual players!

tell me you dont understand economics without telling me.

also getting a divine orb to drop in the endgame is about as rare as an exalt orb was in the campaign. maybe items arent supposed to be considered 100's of exalt orbs in price? maybe they are just a few div orbs and that isnt that bad because who cares about pennies when you have dollars? jfc.

and again. theyre crafting materials. you're supposed to get alot of them.
Última edición por Drosta; 30 DIC 2024 a las 10:21
No you are not.
Certain crafting materials are rare by design.
At least are supposed to. Mirror of Kalandra being one example.

They removed item quant out of poe 1 because of this exact reason. It was too impactful since it also impacted currency.

Most people i talk to, agree that MF is crazy overtuned currently.

Maybe you are just not deep enough into endgame to have a proper grasp on things. Because no one could see the loot from a 10 breach map and go "yeah thats normal"...

I ran 100-120 rarity through the campaign and ended with 140 exalts after I sold everything I got.

Rarity is broken.

You're wrong. It's working as intended. These are crafting materials. And if you brick rarity increase and make them hard to come by you'll brick crafting in the process. The way things are right now, if your broke as$ can't afford a god tier item, "fixing" rarity won't change that. But if exalts, divines, and omens are more common or affordable you could craft your way into some wealth or a good item to use. This is the system working as intended. So once again. Streamers don't know what they're talking about (with a couple exceptions) and neither do you.

currently running t8 maps with 160% rarity and I can't tell a difference.

Between what? 160% and 0? You're unlucky a bit then. It does make a difference. But you won't see the extremes people are upset about until you see T16 ish with 400% quant AND tons of rarity increase on the character. My argument is with the premise that it's a bad thing that exalts and divines become common at this stage. We want that for crafting to be an option. But the voices with platforms are very loud and they don't seem to understand the point.

I did notice a difference immediatelly when switching from 0mf to 150mf, everything dropped more.
its so funny that people think mf needs to be removed bcuz there is inflation

Yeah. I valued it right from day 1 in the campaign and I got plenty of upgrades for myself and traded for the rest. My buddy who didn't, got nothing and spent the entire run moaning like a sad mule. Lol. It's a good stat. I could see an argument for tweaking the diminishing returns we get on stacking it. But it should still be a good stat worth looking to have on your gear and certainly shouldn't be nerfed into uselessness

Isn't it? It's like they think "if only it were harder to get pennies. Then I too could buy a yacht."

But I don't think most people are stupid. They just hear something from someone they like/trust and don't give it alot of thought.
