Report a translation problem
So a projectile will only chain if it has already pierced (or forked, if it has fork).
If a projectile pierces all targets, it will never fork, chain or return.
It's a mechanic you need to learn. Don't pick nodes that have negative effects for your build.
A related problem is some of the decorative objects on the map have physical detection with character models but not with projectiles, so even if you want to intentionally lodge a stormcaller arrow into the nearest inanimate object, it can end up further away from the enemy than you would like.
For now you also have to use another bow for it, but an update is coming so that you can assign the same weapon for set 1 and 2, to make it more manageable.
