i have to assume the feature is incomplete, because the easiest thing for the programmers to start off with, would be to workout and complete the hardcore mode, since it requires keeping track of the fewest details, and then adding portal links with map instances after the devs got that working correctly
ggg has already patched body blocking out of the dodge roll mechanic, so i have to assume, pretty much anything you wind up finding in early access is going to be addressed at some point
for instance, i have found every elemental resistance ring in the game except for cold, and have gone from the beginning of the game, all the way through to maps, but still haven't found a single cold ring, whether or not it's rare, magic or just the basic everyday normal version - so the cold ring is probably just missing from the loot table database, because i cannot see any reason why ggg would ever want to remove it from the game - so there are going to be bugs and quirks that need to be ironed out while you're trying out the game for the first time
so hopefully the next patch drop will have some more endgame features and fixes since that is basically the entire point between standard and hardcore game modes in the first place, is to experiment until players figure things out, then when they feel comfortable, give themselves a challenge
Theres omens in the game to prevent XP loss, give you another chance at life, boost life when you are about to die, etc... People are just consciously choosing to not use any of these in favor of complaining about it instead.
I'm playing minions, so with firewall everywhere you cannot see anything on the ground.
bro I love the game but I agree that exp loss and 1 portal is to much, GGG needs to pick one.
