[HOW TO FIX] CRASHES AND HARD RESET
Hello everyone,

I just found a solution that works for me and avoids PC crashes and hard resets. My game is totally fine after this, no crashes, no freeze.
I've had this problem before, where your computer freezes and you have to restart it because of the game.

How to fix->

- Go into your BIOS, change any CPU Booster you have and disable it.
Like Intel Turbo Boost, mine has an Asus Enhancement CPU Boost etc....

- After disabling all CPU Booster/OC, simply save and restart your PC.

Let me know if this worked for you!

I fixed the crashing, i went online and found the hotfix version of the nvidia graphics driver and installed it manually. Look for hotfix 566.45

This is probably the 6th "fix" I've seen that the person claim it works... I'll try it out but I'm not a IT guy and I'm honestly burned out trying so many different things and researching. I'm beyond pissed that the crashes seem to have got worse and it seems like I won't get to play the game for the rest of my holidays because these irresponsible devs did something to the game right before they all clocked out. Worked fine first week or two. AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D here. If I knew how to take it out I would go and buy a new CPU right now. Might try out your fix when I get my motivation back. Got my friend into the game and he has so far surpassed me since I've been down.

Yeah thousands of fixes, no one worked.

Most of the time people said it works because they had a luck session of several hours without crashing which happened to me. Sometimes it crash 1 or 2 times per hour, sometimes only one crash after 7 hours... It's "random". Well its not random because the problem come from the game and this mean that the thing/thingS that made us crash are on the maps/mobs/monsters/i don't even know why and it's not always there.

Sometimes it crash at loading, sometimes it crash during a mob, sometimes it crash when you open your stash, sometimes it crash when you open trade window with someone, sometimes it crash because you alt+tab to the trade website....

Problem is game related, since this does not happen in any other games I play and it's the same case for others.

We just have to wait and expect GGG take it seriously... but I think we can wait long time.

"Here at GGG we think that Deadeye and Sorceress are too strong and imbalanced which is a problem for the economy, therefore we decided to nerf warrior damage and HP and add a new crash types GPU dependant to add more varieties of crash because people felt bored with CPU crashes"

Only fix I’ve found was switching to Vulkan, and it still would freeze whole PC occasionally, like 1-2 in 8 hours.
Using the affinity tweak, unchecking core 1/2 stopped whole PC freeze up.
Win11 24h2
7800x3D
Rtx 4090
32gb ram
SSD

Same, except I have a 4070 ti super. No crashes. I'm not trying to be a d#ck. I'm simply pointing this out in case that one game (POE2) could have a conflict with an app. Just shooting the sh%t.

Seriously? Messing with UEFI just to fix the game?

Myself and my brother also had random crashes using direct 12 and after switching to Vulcan neither of us had a crash since. Using 4070, latest nvidia drivers etc

There are like 500 pages of people posting fixes (mostly placebo) on the official forums. If you're very desperate try some from there, but be careful because there's a lot of stuff that really shouldn't be done for one single game and also are not 100% proven to work.
