Stuttering due to Network/Shader Caching
I am getting horrible micro stuttering in this game. I have tried literally everything I can that I have found online and on forums.

I have been watching the stat graph religiously when moving around areas, fighting enemies, going into a new area etc. and its two things:

1. Network Spikes

I'm going off of either the Washington server or the Texas server (ping is relatively the same). I sit around 30 to 50 MS, but I will get spikes 60+ which seems to be the consensus "cut-off" before stuttering starts due how high it is. I'm going to assume there isn't much of a practical fix for this issue. I lack the ability to get better internet due to my rural location.

- I have also tried to log in and out of the gateway multiple times to try and get a better connection. Doesn't seem to change anything in that regard.

2. Shaders

This is bothering me the most and I want to know if there is any solution someone has found that can help with this and prevent stuttering from it? I have tried literally everything I've seen online or could think of.

- I have changed every setting to as low as possible.

- I have deleted the shader cache and recompiled it.

- I've given the game high priority on my pc with high GPU usage.

- I went into the NVIDIA control panel and turned up my shader cache size.

I am running out of ideas and starting to assume/wonder if this will be something the developers will have to address?

You're stuttering due to their servers, it's been widely reported on already. If you want to check if it is you, join a group. You don't get the game freezes in groups, you instead just lag if you're lagging. If you're solo, the game/sound will stutter when the network has issues.

From my observation, there seems to be a problem with the shader cache. Regardless of brand of graphic card, shader keeps beeing compiled on AMD and NVIDIA.
I have 2 PCs one Intel/Nvidia(I7 9700K/RTX 2080 super) and one pure AMD machine (7950X3D and 7900 XTX).
Both experience the same problem. Extensive stuttering during gameplay.
Graph shows CPU/Drive/Shader spiking to 100% and after 2-3 seconds it is smooth again. But a minute later the same.
After deleting shader cache the same symptoms happen every map change. Then it's better for maybe a hour and then it starts shader stuttering again.
Network is relative stable(some lag but bareable). Lag won't stress your machine that much when stuttering happens. So it's definitely shader stuttering.

use ssd. Don't even install nvidia app. disable overlays, any even steam's, and don't run background processes like afterburner.

don't like dx12? use vulkan.

Then there's the predictive network setting in poe2_production_Config file. Need to set to read-only after in case game decides to reset it back to auto. Of course, remember about read-only changes, as it might mess up future patches or updates since game can't write to it.

Game is on an SSD, I mean spec wise as a whole I well exceed the games minimum.

I did see people discussing disabling overlays and I tried doing that. I personally didn't notice a difference, on or off.

In regards to the config file, that's a new one I haven't seen yet. Thats in regards to network stuttering, correct? I'll have to try that. My internet isn't the best, but I'm screwed based on my rural location. Typically tho it appears to be stuttering from shaders unless I get a wild latency spike.

See and that's my fear because I swear I've tried about every "practical" solution out there. This post was like my last desperation to find someone who happened to find something that worked for them. I'm thinking I need to chalk this up to a fix on GGGs side and nothing I can personally do. I see what's happening, I know what's happening, yet I can't fix it. Very frustrating.

(Edit: honestly glad to be in the company of someone else suffering with this. I made a reddit post last night and not a single comment. Aside from posts going on a week old I haven't seen anyone discuss it lately.)

I know, I'm throwing another post out there into the sea of many others. This was just my desperate attempt to connect with someone out there that had the same issue and maybe found a fix so obscure I haven't seen it floating around. Like I said in a reply to someone else, I think I need to chalk this up as an issue out of my hands. It's just soo annoying. Everything else is great and feels like butter except for the damn stuttering

Did you fix it?

What seels to work for me is the following:

Directx11 (12 and vulkan tank my fps on 4080 super)
Vsync off
Dynamic resolution off
Upscaling off
All settings on Lowest possible except for texture filtering on 8x
Nvidia reflex off
Fps caps off
Triple buffering on
Dynamic culling off
Target framerate at 60

I get now 200+ fps, the graph still shows shaders and server spikes but i dont notice them anymore ingame

Target fps at 60 but... 200+ fps in game. Seems like the game fails to cap fps. Could be a the bug that causes stuttering.

Servers are lagging. We have sunday, guys and everybody play PoE2. My game is also stuttering now.

Ever since the first patch it's been awful, and seems to be getting worse. I've given up playing now, It was absolutely fine previous to the first major patch, whenever you talk about it online people blame your PC, really ran out of options and patience now, I find it crazy how this isn't first on the priority of things to fix over adjusting the strength of classes? Fix the game first?

I just made a post about this the other day, because Ive been playing since launch 12 hours a day, have my graph up constantly, never had any issues. 4070 + i7 32gb ram.
Then a few days ago I wake up and its like my GPU or CPU was frying, the game is unplayable.
CONSTANT shader and drive spikes which I never had before.
Trying to run super juiced 15+ maps with breach or ritual just bricks the graph and drops me to 50fps with 13ms on the white part. I honesty took my PC in to get it looked at, spent all the money and found out its perfectly fine. Also been testing other games since I noticed the POE issues and I can play them all fine 140+fps no stutters, like Stalker and Tarkov,
So its just GGG servers, I have literally tried everything in the book online to get it to fix, nothing, tried every server, every setting, every guide. Nothing has worked, its GGG

Yup. Exactly that. CPU and 4090 aren't even getting hot.

Unplayable.

i 've been experiencing same issue. just got this issue like yesterday. i did everything that were posted in the forum but none work. internet speed all good, playing other game also all good. looks like poe have to look up to this issue.
same, since yesterdays update. Disk spikes and game freezes
they need to sort their ♥♥♥♥ out ...
Yeah, I've come to the conclusion that literally nothing and I mean nothing can be done on our end to fix this. I've tried everything, and I mean everything even changing power options KNOWING FOR A FACT that it won't fix a single thing. Stuck at 70 fps ish and dropping down to 10 fps "30-40 in towns". My friend has zero issues whatsoever and my pc is better than his. idk what it could possibly be. Only thing I can think of is BIOS update. But that wouldnt explain the mass of people having issues the same as me. They pushed out a patch to fix everything but people being able to play this smoothly. Wild to me. they got our money and they will really wait months to fix the issue that they caused. Just because only 20% of the population cant play its fine to them the rest can so where does that leave us. Waiting and waiting for a fix. I miss the old days of online gaming. Damn im old
