Lot of accounts are getting hacked, wether on Steam or outside of steam. Beware, change ur passwords and activate 2FA on Steam if you can.

Also, GGG will do nothing against it, as stated in the official forum :

I changed the pass and i have 2fa, but im buy the key other site.

got it from InstantGaming & after 16 hrs ofplaytime it got nuked. Filed a support ticket with IG & was responded with refund being done to original payment mode.

Though many will insist "The keys on Steam" was that's where they redeemed their grey site key.

Some people it seems either can't make the separation that where they BOUGHT the key actually matters not where they redeem the key.

Or they know they f'ed up and made a poor decision and are hoping they can just play ignorant and get their access back.


Regardless to why many are acting dumb over the situation, GGG do actually have the facilities to know where each key was generated, the details provided when the key was purchased and if the charges for that particular key were reversed either through a bank reverse charge due to card fraud, or using something like Steams refund policy.

And if a supporter package was purchased and the key generated, and the charge for that particular key was then reversed, it doesn't matter who ended up with the key and if they paid someone else for it..... it's treated as the fraud transaction that it is, and whatever Path of Exile account that redeemed that key will have its access revoked.

And if it's part of a credit card fraud reverse charge by a bank, potentially the entire account just perminately locked/deleted. Depending how GGG want to handle such situations.

Same for my wife , lost acces yesterday after playing a few days.
Seems to not be exclusive to keysites either btw , happens to all versions. With all this going on it is highly likely that they will burn all keys soon and everyone will lose acces.

Yes on official forum various people stated they have bought the game on steam or the official site, but get the account locked, even after many hours.

GGG and moderators dont' give an answer except copy pasted messagge from moderators directing people on support, but there are people waiting answer for weeks.

Really strange situation, people talking of hackers or even data breach on GGG side, but no official answer, i think is too risky to buy the game for now, until GGG give some official information.

Yep, providing you didn't use Steam's refund policy to reverse the charge on the supporter pack, as the packs include store currency that applies to both Path of Exile 1 and 2 that is automatically tied to the account as soon as the supporter pack key is redeemed.

So GGG have a automated system in place that treats any and all reverse charges on supporter packs and the like as fraud and revoke access or block the associated accounts.

If you simply bought a supporter pack from GGG directly or on Steam, and then didn't refund or reverse the charges, then your account is fine from this current wave of access revocations.


We're just seeing the wide spread reach of grey market 3rd party seller services and the people that use them.
