AN ACCOUNT BAN is an account ban dude, Same POE account so it carries over, he didn't get scammed, He did it to himself, its not what he thinks that did the ban to begin with, as many of us have used the same program and with no issues, IT DOES NOT automate or do multiple actions that actually effect the gameplay.
Except macro's are also covered in the ToS as a ban, but again, no one reads that so they wouldn't know and thereby are not legal
If somebody shot someone and got away with it, you wouldn't go out of your way to shoot someone as well, just because they didn't get punished.
When it comes to accounts, it depends. If the game is separate, a ban in one shouldn't bar you from the other, or at least it shouldn't ban you from a game that wasn't even available for several years since then.
If the OP used their steam account to log into the game, as that's the default on steam, their steam user id got banned in PoE1, and the same ban list of IDs just carried over to PoE2, it's honestly a mistake on GGG's part, explained below.
The fact is the following:
- OP used a 3rd party tool in PoE1, which broke their ToS/EULA, so they were legally allowed to revoke access of OP to the game, PoE1.
- Several years went by.
- OP purchased a second installment in the franchise, PoE2, thinking that he'd be able to use the product that he purchased. By purchasing, installing and starting the game, he had to agree to the ToS and EULA of PoE2, NOT PoE1.
- OP had his access to the product revoked before even installing it, despite being able to purchase, download and start it. That on it's own isn't legal, as it'd mean that GGG intentionally sold a product to the OP with the intention of not actually providing it.
There is a reason as to why games, like those that use VAC, have separate single-player/offline/vs. AI modes. You get banned from multiplayer in one, access to VAC or multiplayer outright is revoked in all VAC-related games, however you can still play those games solo/against AI/offline.
Or if it's a launcher, the entire account gets banned or wiped, resulting in... you guessed it, you not being able to purchase the product, and if you do, it will have to be for a new account. Which is not what happened here.
I and all my friends have used it for years with no problems, it does not do anything in the game that you yourself can't do with 1 action. Only thing it does is ctrl - c and paste into trade site and do things like write /hideout in chat
OP is either lying or dumb / got hacked.
This is by a longshot, over steeping bounds. I support GGG in most things they do, but this is just corporate stupidity.
Just because you can do something with "one action" in the game doesn't mean, that it doesn't fall under a 3rd party tool or macro, both of which are not allowed by the ToS/EULA. Automating a process, on it's own falls under a bannable modification to the gameplay.
The difference between the official PoE trade site and you using a macro to do it is the fact, that the former is official and allowed, meanwhile the latter isn't.
"We have done this but didn't get punished, so if you do it, you shouldn't get punished either" is a dumb thing to say.
U poors talk like this publicly? Damn, no wonder your life is so bad.
