Gem-Socket in passive skill-tree without function
Hi all,
I also didn`t play POE1 but already enjoy this EA-version of POE2.

Eveything runs well, but I have 1 problem/question: How do I use the gems in the passive-skill-tree? I`ve heard, that it`s needed to "unlock" them with a passive skill point - so far so good, but the game doesn`t give me any option to do so. I just get the info, that the "requirements are unfulfilled" - even tough the nodes directly before the gem-sockets are already unlocked. I have plenty of passive-skill points to spend (per set an general) - so this can`t be the problem.

I currently play in "cruel" and haven`t found any option so far to activate the sockets - is this related to a quest or any other thing I might have overseen?

Thanks in advance ;)

Do you mean 'jewel sockets'? If so, you can't put gems or supports in those slots, you need jewels.

Hi, thanks - I might haven`t explained this well...
Yes, I have jewels like a saphire, ruby and emerald - but also with using them I can`t "unlock" the correspondig socket.

The jewel sockets themselves need to be allocated like any other node on the tree.

basically you activate the socket and the bonus you get is based on the jewels you put in those

you need unlock node itself first then put jewel from inventory on pasive skill screen

Hi - thanks for your reply. So Iám quite sure, that I face a bug here, because I can`t unlock the node in any case (skill points are available).

Just to make sure, you aren't just trying to unlock a random jewel socket right? It does have to be connected to your tree line.

If it is and you still can't unlock it with a skill point, that does sound like a bug. Not a bug I've heard of recently but still worth mentioning on the PoE forums.

That, or they haven't allocated the point yet, just planned it. The point needs to be confirmed before trying to socket.

Ctrl click the nodes to skip confirmation.

I also have had this bug, I also get a weird glitch that doesn't let me put points into parts farther in my tree for some reason, i was also having this glitch when i swapped to my series x to play, I will try the ctrl click to see if that fixes it

You are linking to the socket yes? not just clicking on a random socket.
Also are you mayhaps using weapon skill points? When i tried using them it gave me some weird errors like unlock" the correspondig nodet.

So if you are using those points, that can be why its acting weird. Its like the systerm forgets that they are real points sometimes, and thats why i stopped trying to duel whield the points....

You might have allocated some points to Weapon Set 1 or 2 and didn't notice, so you can't progress further with "generic" points.

Thanks all - I managed to solve the problem.
First I deleted all skill-points and then set them up again from the very beginning - that made the gem-sockets working properly. This cost around 200K gold - but thats what this currency is for ;)
