GPU died during PoE2 session
So it seems my 2080 Ti journey has come to an end.
PoE2, for some reason, is like a stress test for GPUs.

I limited my FPS to 60 max since the unexpected fan noise, yet it managed to murder the GPU in a few weeks.

My 2080 Ti survived nearly 8000 hours of GTA V stress, and it only got loud there if I had grass detail maxed out. PoE2 already heats the house at the main menu.

The timing is very unfortunate since I was planning on updating my build with the upcoming RTX 50XX and X3D. Now I have to buy some in-between card until the next gen. :)

This isn’t supposed to be a hate post. I’ll keep playing PoE2 later today when I get my new GPU. I’m just curious, is this a widespread issue or just bad luck?

Win11 by any chance ?
Have a RTX3080Ti and it runs but temperature is always near 70 degree in this game.
In load times duriing map change he decrease the temperature to 59 .
In silent mode like now its 27 degree.
the game really triggers the gpu hard.

Taking into consideration the fans are doing their job and that there's no spiderwebs in the tower, 70 degrees is more than fair temps in a game that has this much visual effects. Even mid 80's is ok.
If we're talking about liquid cooling then that`s a different story.
what's ur gpu temperature? if 80+ c

u can change thermal artic mx4 every 2 years. u have a good amazing card rtx 2080.

changing the thermal past n cooling can last forever. making the gpu temp 45c etc.

70c is ok but seem kinda high for 3080.
ideally non- liquid shall be 45c . max load 60c.

if liquid prolly 30c.
