No, it's not a Korean MMO. Those often have loot drop algorithms that specifically reduce your chances of getting the items that you are trying to get, so that you would end up buying it with real money instead.

They also lower these drop rates based on how much you play, so if you take a break and return like a week or two later you suddenly get better drops as the algorithm tries to hook you back in.

Like, games are supposed to waste your spare time, pretty much by default. That is their whole point.

Simple. You lose maps when you lose. You lose EXP when you lose. There is very little new content or truly challenging content in the endgame.

Eh. Games can provide new and interesting experiences and challenges to keep your brain entertained. But these games don't really do any of that after the first few hours. It's just constant tease of gambling mechanics and pavlovian conditioning. Not every game treats you like an animal and I don't find being treated like one respectful. Unless...

I play pretty casual really.. just about 100 hours into it now and only just got to mapping on one character.. had a bit more spare time than normal due to holidays but yeah there is no rush to do anything you are not competing with anyone unless of course you want to..

I don't see it as a grind as I enjoyed the game so far.. I don't play games i don't enjoy.

it's more about the structure/content/delivery of the game.

An 8 hour game can waste your time too.

This game GGG made, wastes your time only in the endgame... but like... that's why you are playing this game.

I will probably do one more character for acts IV V VI to say I did it. but I doubt I will bother with endgame if it stays like this.
