Buying poe2 as a newcomer or waiting for f2p?
Is there a point in buying POE2 as a newcomer or wait for it to go f2p? I really like poe1 started today. Not sure what's up

up to you really. POE2 is more straight forward than POE1, at least for new players, but also, more boss mechanics focused. Whats $30 worth to you?

You could easily play POE1 until POE2 is free then pick up POE2.

go for it, it's worth it.

I tried to do that(playing POE), but after a few clicks in POE I remembered how much time you use to set up a character, and I bought POE 2 instead..

Cost vs time

there is no point in buying anything at any time. If you want to play the game now, buy it. The game is worth these money. If you don't really care, just wait for release, because there is really no reason to play during earlier access

You get 300 points worth 30$ and you need the points to buy stashes, when you are new. The stashes are in both games, PoE1 and 2.

You definetely need the stashes, if you want to play, no matter which PoE. So you are not "only" buying the game.

I guess the question is - do you see yourself buying currency for PoE ? If you think so - might as well get a PoE 2 supporter pack. You can use the currency on either game and any stashes you buy in PoE 1 will be available in PoE 2. So, that's something to consider.

If you never play this before give POE (1) a try first, its almost the same POE2 have more action in gameplay but most part is nearly same

If you are bored then buy it. Note that the lowest package gives you points that can be spent on stash tabs, mtx is shared between games. Just rotate the two.

Mate I'd wait, it's an awful lot of fun but at the minute you only get half the game, the first half of the story then end game, and you have to redo the first 3 acts once you've beat it to get to end game.

Love the game, but as a casual who's never played, definitely wait for the best experience.

If you ever plan to buy stash tabs or cosmetics then go for it. You get $30 worth of points to spend in the shop. I think if you buy stash tabs for one game you get them in the other game too.

If you can't wait go for it.

POE2 EA is honestly kind of bad, half the content isn't even done yet, not even in the game. The balance is eh, I think it's tuned to be way too punishing but lots of people here seem to like that, if grinding endlessly to level up and get gear is your idea of fun go for it.

If you want randomly lose access for no reason, and wait weeks for help, then yeah, why not.
Pawbu Dec 26, 2024 @ 10:36am
I wish I would have waited honestly. My advice is to just play poe1 for the next few months and then maybe check poe2 out. There's obviously things that need time to cook longer and more things that feel weird because only a portion of the game is playable right now.

Just wait 5 years for the game to be good. If it ever will. This game is terrible right now and this dev is extremely stubborn and opposed to fun.

D4 bundle on sale right now. 100x the value of this trash game.

Play 1 a bit more be sure its for you. Are you into other ARPG's? What did you dislike about them that brought you to PoE?
