Why is physical damage not a thing
Since cool moderators on Reddit wont allow this post. I'm gonna post it here...

Dear community,

I'm new to PoE2 (54h in) and played PoE1 for 150h. I have a question regarding builds. So basically when I look at skills for classes that I played (Ranger, Mercenary) most of abilities or better to say future character ability usage mostly spin around using elemental ailment (Poison, Lighting, Freeze and Fire) that will do most of the damage. And for build "viability" all passive skill tree is good for only improving elemental ailment + some side buffs (like attack speed...etc). Not to mention support gems also hint at using elemental ailment build because it will improve the ability.

Don't get me wrong I have nothing against using that kind of playstyle, but it's weird for me for Ranger, not to have more Abilities that will ride around "pure" physical damage (by pure I mean without any elemental ailment).

What I'm trying to say if you do not understand me is that also Mercenary's abilities builds are all based on elemental damage. You will again use only available support gems to improve elemental damage and again use passive skill tree to enhance it even more.

I know that items you equip can help you go for unique type of character playstyle but it will not gonna be great for later game.

Maybe I'm just bad at the game and need to learn more? Sure, but I still think that there needs to be more abilities for gameplay that does not make my whole screen Green, Lighting blue, Frost blue or Red for me to be able to clear enemies fast and to nuke bosses in 20 seconds.

PS: Please GGG let us phase through enemies with roll. Body block is really frustrating.
