i quit because losing XP on death is braindead
Literally the reason im quiting is that after lvl 91, it takes you like 8 hours of doing T16' to levelup, and if you die to some over-tuned pack of mobs you lose like 15% of your exp...
Entire 8 hours of grinding lost in like 4-5 deaths from one shots.

Who thought its a good idea ?

And i can only imagine how painful it is on lvl 95+

I dont enjoy the grind for grind to then just die and grind again.
I have 100+ divines my character is 75% resist capped and has 8000 energy shield, and i still get one shot by a pack of ranged mobs with frost damage (happened just now)

Im out. Marvel Rivals or DayZ waits for me. Even No Mans SKy will bring me more enjoyable content right now, than just grinding T16'th to then die and lose all the EXP again.

I'm really tired of this argument that being one shot adds to difficulty. There's nothing difficult about it. Hell you can even die to an on death effect so you're punished for killing something. Dying is more punishing here than the original which is kind of crazy. You lose the map, the xp, any map benefits and potentially the node if you've died enough. In the original if you died in maps you lost the xp and could go back in. My Ranger never made it passed level 91 and I wasted a tonne of xp gain maps in the process. In a nutshell more health more damage is the most basic endgame loop you can create.

Just because x game did x y and z over a decade ago doesn't mean this game needs to do the same thing. As Kripp said POE 2 is Ruthless except this time you don't get to choose the game mode. That's what you play by default.

I'm not suppose nor defy, but i do respect what challenge game developer throw it to me. and i think you just want thing to be the way you want too much so you using "dumbest" word which is not its just you have opinion here, other also have they opinion too. learn some respect and you will earn it.

Sure. I agree ...
How about just make a decent build that doesn't die ... or is that elitism?
How about get better at preventing death? Or is that just the "git gud" argument ?!

It seems no matter what one says it doesn't change anything.

You know there are others who never die in this game. Xp loss is fine for me.

These days players dont wanna have any challenges. Mapping, watching netflix with one eye open is the perfect solution. If game req some form of focus its over complicated. Holy crap if this is too hard to play pick easier games. Not whole community is like that and some of us want something that keep is busy not lazy.

There's a difference between challenge and punishment.
A game can be challenging without stupid punishments that take away the already achieved progress of the player.
You already lose the time, loot, map/waystone and the map bonus. No need to set back the whole character as well.
And there are plenty of games that do just that. PoE isn't one of them. If you don't like it, go play those.

This mentality is exactly why PoE 1 went stale.

Make change and make the game better.

I dont want to be lvl 99 and when I die I lose 3 days worth of grinding. Do you?

Wait, we loose XP on death?!? lol I haven’t even noticed, if we die too much do we loose levels? Or just be at 0 XP for that level?

The death penalty is punitive and adds nothing to the game.
