How are folks getting such powerful stuff?

Im looking through the trade for a crossbow and some of these things have like 600 DPS. Im getting the same level drops but when i got to craft them with the orbs, they come out junk?

One person said gamble for endgame items but I am unsure who that is to invite to my hideout.

The game is designed to facilitate trade. the REALLY good stuff is supposed to be super rare.

There is a huge boatload of Random Number Generation involved with all crafting and loot drops. Every time you craft, there are literally hundreds of different outcomes for EACH step of the way.

Later on, they might implement a better way to target the exact stats you want, or rather a more likely roll for certain stat, but the value of the stats will still be at the mercy of RNG.

They are swiping the credit card for divine orbs, thats why they are worth almost 80 exalted orbs whereas they are worth 5 in poe1. This has made exalted orb drops super worthless when in the first few days of the release finding a couple meant you could get much better items.

there are means for the more sensible or lacking in finances.

Just becomes "swiping" your time instead. We're getting to that point where the true no lifers prob getting builds together in any ARPG. Hard is that is to believe, but there are a lot of hours in a day if this is all you play right.

What parameters do you type in to find the uber uber powerful gear. I have a mapping crossbow but looking to buy an uber endgame crossbow now before prices go up. I have 2 divines currently.

Crossbow? look for +Phys damage %phys damage , a really high Elemental damage (+4-100 electric as example) and increase to level of crossbow skills (+3-5)

If you use grenades, get bombard as well.

Whatever other stats you want, go for it.

crafting and building is top high game play in POE you need to understand 100% how crafting work and what stat good for any class work ...if not stay far away from that crafting table that crafting table will put a hole in your bank account lots lots of amount of crafting material needed success rate is 0.001%

If they designed the game for trading they should have some kind of auction house ingame. I couldnt log into their site via steam, did not work. Feels bad.

They have it in thier to-do list, but not priority right now.

Okay just watched a video and now I understand essences better.

Obviously ever item has an item level, on which the magnitude of a Tier depends, so a low item level - item can only have a low prefix or suffix.

Essences
The cheap ones turn a normal item into a blue one with one modifier, depending on the essence.

Like essence of fire for example can give you on a ring one out of three fire modifiers.
Of which two are prefixes %increased Fire Damage / Adds to Fire Damage to Attacks and one is a suffix Fire Resistance.

After that you can use an orb of augmentation and give the item a random pre or suffix.

3rd step you can now use a greater essence on the blue item, like a greater fire essence and give your item one of the two leftover fire modifiers.

Then we got omens:
"Omens in Path of Exile 2 (PoE 2) are special items, enable meta Crafting, which involves modifying crafting items to influence other crafting outcomes."

Which are a thing on their own, all very expensive, but yes you can craft your own item, but it will most likely always be far far cheaper to buy one I believe.

Still at least now I know how to influence the rng a little.
