The trials are a great way to gauge your gear/build.
If you are struggling to finish the 1st trial, you probably need a better weapon. If you are dying a lot in 2nd trial, you need better suitability probably.
Take the cues from how hard it is. Work on your gear. It's very easy to focus on the problem areas. Get 40% + resistances and 35%+ armor value and get the highest Damage weapons you can find. +100% phys damage on bow/melee is good, +raw damage is good, +chaos damage is great (not many resist chaos), and if you are magic user obviously the more magic damage it has the better.
Rings and Amulet and Belt are the easiest things to upgrade from vendor since each TYPE of ring/amulet/belt focuses a specific thing. Upgrading them to Magic, adding +1 more effect, is VERY VERY cheap. You can do it multiple times to get what you need, for very little cost.
I do think the first two Ascendancy points should be free to throw a bone to the...less capable players.
The trials are quit trivial when you get to a certain point of gear.
When making multiple characters, your primary (Starter) character can feed good gear to your new characters, thus making the process very very painless.
Also, trade is a thing.
Only because its possible to beat doesnt mean its good design. I highly assume that the vast majority of players do them once for the ascendency points, which means that even as a potential endgame option this one isnt liked at all. The lenght, the randomness and the by times cheap losses dont really make a positive impact and even with great gear the trials are an annoyance at best. Its not surprising its one of the main complain topics.
The trials can be improved upon, yes, but to say they are not liked at all is projection.
I love the Ultimatums.. not so much the other trial, since the loot out of the chests kinda stink right now and should be buffed considerably.
There are also a lot of people that enjoy the mechanics of Sanctum.. fewer of them voice this but they exist.
If there can be improvements, by all means, but should they be removed altogether? I disagree on that.
GGG would never allow a cash transaction to skip trials.
But thats already happening, people are just hiring people to hold their hands through the trials. Why would GGG pass up on that cash cow?!? It would be stupid.
Because POE 1 has had it that way for a decade.
have you gotten your full 8 points yet and how many characters have you gotten all 8 points ? so you think its ok for a person in order to experiment builds have to reach end game before they can even get their ascendancy points ? sure one or 2 char is ok, but for multi chars i would feel its a huge waste of time, no one says to remove it entirely i always say make labs optional and let players get ascendancy points more easily .
i've only got one witch to fully clear all 4 ascendancy and i would never go thru it again for another toon, but to each his own, you prefer it this way then sure good for you, im back playing poe 1 anyways so not a big deal.
we're all trying to voice our opinions anyways no one is right or wrong, lets see where GGG takes the game
This is how POE plays. Every time they reset the game for a new season, you WILL have to do everything again. This is how POE plays. There is no skipping content.
Could they change this in the future for POE 2? yes, they could. Will they? Probably not, but you can voice your opinions on how skipping content helps the player base stay steady, then go ahead and try to make a case on the forums. I sincerely doubt you will be able to come up with a good case. Good luck!
