It isn't a one shot unless you meet two certain requirements? Huh. Sounds to me the game is simply unbalanced.

So if you are under geared you should NOT get 1 shot? It would be more unbalanced if you dont get 1 shot.

Edit, you dont even need 50%+ ice res...

Took me some time, but it was super satisfying to defeat him with my sorc. But I do agree, it did feel souls like.

Count Geonor is honestly one of the best feeling boss fights in the game. The Act 2 and 3 final bosses don't even come close.

haha i am playing 2 hand mace and it was pretty hard for me to kill it took me like 10-15 tries before i memorized patterns

OP, you are wrong, the game is nowhere near Souls-like, it's an obvious twin-stick shooter

Not being able to i-frame certain attacks makes it feel less soulslike. It's like having low adaptability in Dark Souls 2.

Have you actually played soulslike games? It's nowhere near. Bosses in PoE 2 are very PoE like.

He didn't say anything about one shots. He also didn't make any statement about whether he enjoyed the experience or not. He didn't say it was to hard.

Just cause they didn't say anything about 1 shots doesn't mean they are not experiencing them. Just because they didn't say it was hard doesn't mean it wasn't. Why else would they create the 1000's post in the games 2 week life span to let us know about it being a soul like game if they were not having any issues with the game.

The funny thing about Soulslikes is that 1 shots are extremely rare. It's far more balanced then PoE 2. I think the difficulty is good overall, but things are too unbalanced and polarized. People are just going to end up looking up build guides so they don't have to deal with this nonsense.
