Spark build + Siphon wand, why?

Trying to recreate my old spark build from POE1 days from years and years ago.

I see many online builds using the siphon wand but why?
The orbs produced don't seem to have a use.

Pretty new to POE2 so any help is appreciated; it's been fun so far.

yeah, mainly because right now wands can roll +x to critical dmg for spells, & +x to max mana, which helps a lot along with a few other stats Staves don't seem to have.

Personally I run the electric stave as it has +x to lightning spells; +x added lightning dmg, and it's fine for leveling during campaign. I wouldn't switch to wand until running end game maps where its specific stats will be needed.

Plus when you reach late game / end game, you won't be using your wand/staff ability at all, you will only be using your spells. Essentially consider spark your main/auto attack, along with flame wall & lightning orb proc'd constantly to modify spark's dmg and other spells you want up.

my attack order: flame wall + orb of storms, mana tempest, then spark everything down lol
once archmage is obtained, that will be added to rotation.

So in short no other reason than the wand(s) are easier to get desired attributes and nothing do to with power siphon skill itself?

I found Earthbound pretty early which is another reason I re-rolled from witch minion build to spark sorc build:

Level 22 staff
Grants level 7 lightning bolt
Grants level 7 spark
105% lightning damage
19% increase cast speed
20% increased mana regeneration rate
Trigger spark skill on killing a shocked enemy.

I recently swapped at level 30, now I am running a siphon wand:

Level 8 power siphon
71% spell damage
+26 max mana
+1 level to all lightning skills
Gain 6 mana per enemy killed

and focus mainly for shield and cast speed:

33 energy shield
+10 to max energy shield
30% increased energy shield
27% fire damage
16% cast speed
19% increased mana regeneration rate

Not sure if I should swap back to the staff but the extra shield is quite nice and I am killed fast enough except bosses can be a little painful.

Those are pretty good stats! generally + spell damage and + lvl to skills is always good to take. maybe also look for mana regen on your wand/staff too? I think wand can also roll cast speed as well, but also another great stat to have on both.

Remember to always check vendors and gamble with orbs for better stats + higher levels as you level up, since loot drops aren't the best, vendors are your best way to find higher level gear atm.

Oh! Since you are running spark, keep an eye out for Kitoko's Current bracers, they are a really good addition for spark build. That's one I'm looking for as well.

I was literally about to buy these gloves off of POE2 trade and decided not to.
My next trials run I got the gloves off the 1st run. :D
Haven't tried them out yet.
